13 1	Let brotherly love continue.	Service Well-Pleasing to God Hb.13.1-19	Ἡ φιλαδελφία μενέτω.
2	Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.		τῆς φιλοξενίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε, διὰ ταύτης γὰρ ἐλαθόν τινες ξενίσαντες ἀγγέλους.
3	Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you also are in the body.		μιμνῄσκεσθε τῶν δεσμίων ὡς συνδεδεμένοι, τῶν κακουχουμένων ὡς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὄντες ἐν σώματι.
4	Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.		Τίμιος ὁ γάμος ἐν πᾶσιν καὶ ἡ κοίτη ἀμίαντος, πόρνους γὰρ καὶ μοιχοὺς κρινεῖ ὁ θεός.
5	Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, "I will never fail you nor forsake you."	- I will never fail you nor forsake you. Hb.13.5 \| Dt.31.6	Ἀφιλάργυρος ὁ τρόπος· ἀρκούμενοι τοῖς παροῦσιν· αὐτὸς γὰρ εἰρηκεν, Oὐ μή σε ἀνῶ οὐδ' οὐ μή σε ἐγκαταλίπω·
6	Hence we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?"	- The Lord is my helper what can man do to me? Hb.13.6 \| Ps.18.6	ὡστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν, Kύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός, καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσομαι: τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωποσ;
7	Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God; consider the outcome of their life, and imitate their faith.		Μνημονεύετε τῶν ἡγουμένων ὑμῶν, οἱτινες ἐλάλησαν ὑμῖν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ, ὧν ἀναθεωροῦντες τὴν ἐκβασιν τῆς ἀναστροφῆς μιμεῖσθε τὴν πίστιν.
8	Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.		Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς ἐχθὲς καὶ σήμερον ὁ αὐτός, καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.
9	Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings; for it is well that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited their adherents.		διδαχαῖς ποικίλαις καὶ ξέναις μὴ παραφέρεσθε· καλὸν γὰρ χάριτι βεβαιοῦσθαι τὴν καρδίαν, οὐ βρώμασιν, ἐν οἷς οὐκ ὠφελήθησαν οἱ περιπατοῦντες.
10	We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.		ἐχομεν θυσιαστήριον ἐξ οὗ φαγεῖν οὐκ ἐχουσιν ἐξουσίαν οἱ τῇ σκηνῇ λατρεύοντες.
11	For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.		ὧν γὰρ εἰσφέρεται ζῴων τὸ αἷμα περὶ ἀμαρτίας εἰς τὰ ἀγια διὰ τοῦ ἀρχιερέως, τούτων τὰ σώματα κατακαίεται ἐξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς.
12	So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.		διὸ καὶ Ἰησοῦς, ἵνα ἀγιάσῃ διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἱματος τὸν λαόν, ἐξω τῆς πύλης ἐπαθεν.
13	Therefore let us go forth to him outside the camp and bear the abuse he endured.		τοίνυν ἐξερχώμεθα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς, τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτοῦ φέροντες·
14	For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city which is to come.		οὐ γὰρ ἐχομεν ὧδε μένουσαν πόλιν, ἀλλὰ τὴν μέλλουσαν ἐπιζητοῦμεν.
15	Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.		δῖ αὐτοῦ οὖν ἀναφέρωμεν θυσίαν αἰνέσεως διὰ παντὸς τῷ θεῷ, τοῦτ' ἐστιν καρπὸν χειλέων ὁμολογούντων τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ.
16	Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.		τῆς δὲ εὐποιΐας καὶ κοινωνίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε, τοιαύταις γὰρ θυσίαις εὐαρεστεῖται ὁ θεός.
17	Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you.		Πείθεσθε τοῖς ἡγουμένοις ὑμῶν καὶ ὑπείκετε, αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἀγρυπνοῦσιν ὑπὲρ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ὡς λόγον ἀποδώσοντες, ἵνα μετὰ χαρᾶς τοῦτο ποιῶσιν καὶ μὴ στενάζοντες, ἀλυσιτελὲς γὰρ ὑμῖν τοῦτο.
18	Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honourably in all things.		Προσεύχεσθε περὶ ἡμῶν, πειθόμεθα γὰρ ὅτι καλὴν συνείδησιν ἐχομεν, ἐν πᾶσιν καλῶς θέλοντες ἀναστρέφεσθαι.
19	I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.		περισσοτέρως δὲ παρακαλῶ τοῦτο ποιῆσαι ἵνα τάχιον ἀποκατασταθῶ ὑμῖν.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
