23Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.Sin Put Away by Christ's Sacrifice Hb.9.23-10.18Ἀνάγκη οὖν τὰ μὲν ὑποδείγματα τῶν ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς τούτοις καθαρίζεσθαι, αὐτὰ δὲ τὰ ἐπουράνια κρείττοσιν θυσίαις παρὰ ταύτας.
24For Christ has entered, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. οὐ γὰρ εἰς χειροποίητα εἰσῆλθεν ἀγια Χριστός, ἀντίτυπα τῶν ἀληθινῶν, ἀλλ' εἰς αὐτὸν τὸν οὐρανόν, νῦν ἐμφανισθῆναι τῷ προσώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν·
25Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the Holy Place yearly with blood not his own; οὐδ' ἵνα πολλάκις προσφέρῃ ἑαυτόν, ὡσπερ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰσέρχεται εἰς τὰ ἀγια κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν ἐν αἱματι ἀλλοτρίῳ,
26for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. ἐπεὶ ἐδει αὐτὸν πολλάκις παθεῖν ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου· νυνὶ δὲ ἀπαξ ἐπὶ συντελείᾳ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς ἀθέτησιν τῆς ἀμαρτίας διὰ τῆς θυσίας αὐτοῦ πεφανέρωται.
27And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, καὶ καθ' ὁσον ἀπόκειται τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἀπαξ ἀποθανεῖν, μετὰ δὲ τοῦτο κρίσις,
28so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. οὑτως καὶ ὁ Χριστός, ἀπαξ προσενεχθεὶς εἰς τὸ πολλῶν ἀνενεγκεῖν ἀμαρτίας, ἐκ δευτέρου χωρὶς ἀμαρτίας ὀφθήσεται τοῖς αὐτὸν ἀπεκδεχομένοις εἰς σωτηρίαν.
10 1For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices which are continually offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near. Σκιὰν γὰρ ἐχων ὁ νόμος τῶν μελλόντων ἀγαθῶν, οὐκ αὐτὴν τὴν εἰκόνα τῶν πραγμάτων, κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν ταῖς αὐταῖς θυσίαις ἂς προσφέρουσιν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς οὐδέποτε δύναται τοὺς προσερχομένους τελειῶσαι·
2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? If the worshipers had once been cleansed, they would no longer have any consciousness of sin. ἐπεὶ οὐκ ἂν ἐπαύσαντο προσφερόμεναι, διὰ τὸ μηδεμίαν ἐχειν ἐτι συνείδησιν ἀμαρτιῶν τοὺς λατρεύοντας ἀπαξ κεκαθαρισμένους;
3But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin year after year. ἀλλ' ἐν αὐταῖς ἀνάμνησις ἀμαρτιῶν κατ' ἐνιαυτόν,
4For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. ἀδύνατον γὰρ αἷμα ταύρων καὶ τράγων ἀφαιρεῖν ἀμαρτίας.
5Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said,

"Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;

Θυσίαν καὶ προσφορὰν οὐκ ἠθέλησας,

6in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure.
 ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας
οὐκ εὐδόκησας.

7Then I said, 'Lo, I have come to do your will, O God,'
as it is written of me in the roll of the book."
 τότε εἶπον,
Ἰδοὺ ἡκω,
ἐν κεφαλίδι βιβλίου γέγραπται περὶ ἐμοῦ,
τοῦ ποιῆσαι, ὁ θεός, τὸ θέλημά σου.
8When he said above, "You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings"(these are offered according to the law),- Thou hast neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices Hb.10.8 | Ps.40.6ἀνώτερον λέγων ὅτι Θυσίας καὶ προσφορὰς καὶ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας οὐκ ἠθέλησας οὐδὲ εὐδόκησας, αἱτινες κατὰ νόμον προσφέρονται,
9then he added, "Lo, I have come to do your will." He abolishes the first in order to establish the second.- Lo, I have come to do thy will. Hb.10.9 | Ps.40.7τότε εἰρηκεν, Ἰδοὺ ἥκω τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ θέλημά σου. ἀναιρεῖ τὸ πρῶτον ἵνα τὸ δεύτερον στήσῃ·
10And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ἐν ᾧ θελήματι ἡγιασμένοι ἐσμὲν διὰ τῆς προσφορᾶς τοῦ σώματος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐφάπαξ.
11And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. Καὶ πᾶς μὲν ἱερεὺς ἑστηκεν καθ' ἡμέραν λειτουργῶν καὶ τὰς αὐτὰς πολλάκις προσφέρων θυσίας, αἱτινες οὐδέποτε δύνανται περιελεῖν ἀμαρτίας.
12But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,- he sat down at the right hand of God Hb.10.12 | Ps.110.1οὗτος δὲ μίαν ὑπὲρ ἀμαρτιῶν προσενέγκας θυσίαν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θεοῦ,
13then to wait until his enemies should be made a stool for his feet.- his enemies should be made a stool for his feet Hb.10.13 | Ps.110.1τὸ λοιπὸν ἐκδεχόμενος ἕως τεθῶσιν οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτοῦ ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ·
14For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. μιᾷ γὰρ προσφορᾷ τετελείωκεν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς τοὺς ἀγιαζομένους.
15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, Μαρτυρεῖ δὲ ἡμῖν καὶ τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἀγιον· μετὰ γὰρ τὸ εἰρηκέναι,
16"This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,"

17then he adds,

"I will remember their sins and their misdeeds no more."

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
