| 17 | But the Lord stood by me and lent me strength, so that I might be his instrument in making the full proclamation of the Gospel for the whole pagan world to hear; and thus I was rescued out of the lion's jaws. | | ὁ δὲ κύριός μοι παρέστη καὶ ἐνεδυνάμωσέν με, ἵνα δῖ ἐμοῦ τὸ κήρυγμα πληροφορηθῇ καὶ ἀκούσωσιν πάντα τὰ ἐθνη, καὶ ἐρρύσθην ἐκ στόματος λέοντος. |

| 18 | And the Lord will rescue me from every attempt to do me harm, and keep me safe until his heavenly reign begins. Or: from all that evil can do, and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. Glory to him for ever and ever! Amen. | | ῥύσεταί με ὁ κύριος ἀπὸ παντὸς ἐργου πονηροῦ καὶ σώσει εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐπουράνιον, ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν. |
