12	But we beseech you, brethren, to respect those who labour among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,	Final Exhortations and Greetings 1Th.5.12-28	Ἐρωτῶμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, εἰδέναι τοὺς κοπιῶντας ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ προϊσταμένους ὑμῶν ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ νουθετοῦντας ὑμᾶς,
13	and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.		καὶ ἡγεῖσθαι αὐτοὺς ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ ἐν ἀγάπῃ διὰ τὸ ἐργον αὐτῶν. εἰρηνεύετε ἐν ἑαυτοῖς.
14	And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.		παρακαλοῦμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, νουθετεῖτε τοὺς ἀτάκτους, παραμυθεῖσθε τοὺς ὀλιγοψύχους, ἀντέχεσθε τῶν ἀσθενῶν, μακροθυμεῖτε πρὸς πάντας.
15	See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.		ὁρᾶτε μή τις κακὸν ἀντὶ κακοῦ τινι ἀποδῷ, ἀλλὰ πάντοτε τὸ ἀγαθὸν διώκετε καὶ εἰς ἀλλήλους καὶ εἰς πάντας.
16	Rejoice always,		Πάντοτε χαίρετε,
17	pray constantly,		ἀδιαλείπτως προσεύχεσθε,
18	give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.		ἐν παντὶ εὐχαριστεῖτε· τοῦτο γὰρ θέλημα θεοῦ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ εἰς ὑμᾶς.
19	Do not quench the Spirit,		τὸ Πνεῦμα μὴ σβέννυτε,
20	do not despise prophesying,		προφητείας μὴ ἐξουθενεῖτε·
21	but test everything; hold fast what is good,		πάντα δὲ δοκιμάζετε, τὸ καλὸν κατέχετε,
22	abstain from every form of evil.		ἀπὸ παντὸς εἰδους πονηροῦ ἀπέχεσθε.
23	May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.		Αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ἀγιάσαι ὑμᾶς ὁλοτελεῖς, καὶ ὁλόκληρον ὑμῶν τὸ Πνεῦμα καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ καὶ τὸ σῶμα ἀμέμπτως ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τηρη θείη.
24	He who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.		πιστὸς ὁ καλῶν ὑμᾶς, ὃς καὶ ποιήσει.
25	Brethren, pray for us.		Ἀδελφοί, προσεύχεσθε καὶ περὶ ἡμῶν.
26	Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.		Ἀσπάσασθε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς πάντας ἐν φιλήματι ἀγίῳ.
27	I adjure you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the brethren.		Ἐνορκίζω ὑμᾶς τὸν κύριον ἀναγνωσθῆναι τὴν ἐπιστολὴν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς.
28	The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.		Ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ μεθ' ὑμῶν.

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
