| 23 | For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Saviour. | | ὁτι ἀνήρ ἐστιν κεφαλὴ τῆς γυναικὸς ὡς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς κεφαλὴ τῆς ἐκκλησίας, αὐτὸς σωτὴρ τοῦ σώματος. |

| 24 | As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. | | ἀλλὰ ὡς ἡ ἐκκλησία ὑποτάσσεται τῷ Χριστῷ, οὑτως καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τοῖς ἀνδράσιν ἐν παντί. |

| 32 | This mystery is a profound one, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church; | | τὸ μυστήριον τοῦτο μέγα ἐστίν, ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω εἰς Χριστὸν καὶ εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν. |
