10 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

23'We are free to do anything', you say. Yes, but is everything good for us? 'We are free to do anything', but does everything help the building of the community?Do All to the Glory of God 1Cor.10.23-11.1Πάντα ἐξεστιν, ἀλλ' οὐ πάντα συμφέρει.
24Each of you must regard, not his own interests, but the other man's.
25You may eat anything sold in the meat-market without raising questions of conscience; Πᾶν τὸ ἐν μακέλλῳ πωλούμενον ἐσθίετε μηδὲν ἀνακρίνοντες διὰ τὴν συνείδησιν,
26for the earth is the Lord's and everything in it.
- the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. 1Cor.10.26 | Ps.24.1 | Ps.50.12 | Ps.89.11τοῦ κυρίου γὰρ ἡ γῆ καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς.
27If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you care to go, eat whatever is put before you, without raising questions of conscience.
28But if somebody says to you, 'This food has been offered in sacrifice', then, out of consideration for him, and for conscience' sake, do not eat it— ἐὰν δέ τις ὑμῖν εἰπῃ, Τοῦτο ἱερόθυτόν ἐστιν, μὴ ἐσθίετε δῖ ἐκεῖνον τὸν μηνύσαντα καὶ τὴν συνείδησιν -
29not your conscience, I mean, but the other man's.

'What?' you say, 'is my freedom to be called in question by another man's conscience?

 συνείδησιν δὲ λέγω οὐχὶ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀλλὰ τὴν τοῦ ἑτέρου. ἵνατί γὰρ ἡ ἐλευθερία μου κρίνεται ὑπὸ ἀλλης συνειδήσεως;
30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I blamed for eating food over which I have said grace?' εἰ ἐγὼ χάριτι μετέχω, τί βλασφημοῦμαι ὑπὲρ οὗ ἐγὼ εὐχαριστῶ;
31Well, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you are doing, do all for the honour of God:
32give no offence to Jews, or Greeks, or to the church of God.
33For my part I always try to meet everyone half-way, regarding not my own good but the good of the many, so that they may be saved.
11 1Follow my example as I follow Christ's.
