14 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

13Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.Do Not Make Your Brother Stumble Ro.14.13-23Μηκέτι οὖν ἀλλήλους κρίνωμεν· ἀλλὰ τοῦτο κρίνατε μᾶλλον, τὸ μὴ τιθέναι πρόσκομμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ ἢ σκάνδαλον.
14I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.
15If your brother is being injured by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not let what you eat cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died.
16So do not let your good be spoken of as evil.
17For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit; οὐ γάρ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ βρῶσις καὶ πόσις, ἀλλὰ δικαιοσύνη καὶ εἰρήνη καὶ χαρὰ ἐν πνεύματι ἀγίῳ·
18he who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
20Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make others fall by what he eats; μὴ ἑνεκεν βρώματος κατάλυε τὸ ἐργον τοῦ θεοῦ.
21it is right not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that makes your brother stumble.
22The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God; happy is he who has no reason to judge himself for what he approves.
23But he who has doubts is condemned, if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
