4	Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.	The Gospel Preached in Samaria Ac.8.4-25 (Samaria)	Οἱ μὲν οὖν διασπαρέντες διῆλθον εὐαγγελιζόμενοι τὸν λόγον.
5	Philip went down to a city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.		Φίλιππος δὲ κατελθὼν εἰς τὴν πόλιν τῆς Σαμαρείας ἐκήρυσσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν Χριστόν.
6	And the multitudes with one accord gave heed to what was said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs which he did.		προσεῖχον δὲ οἱ ὀχλοι τοῖς λεγομένοις ὑπὸ τοῦ Φιλίππου ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἐν τῷ ἀκούειν αὐτοὺς καὶ βλέπειν τὰ σημεῖα ἂ ἐποίει·
7	For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice; and many who were paralysed or lame were healed.		πολλοὶ γὰρ τῶν ἐχόντων πνεύματα ἀκάθαρτα βοῶντα φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἐξήρχοντο, πολλοὶ δὲ παραλελυμένοι καὶ χωλοὶ ἐθεραπεύθησαν·
8	So there was much joy in that city.		ἐγένετο δὲ πολλὴ χαρὰ ἐν τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ.
9	But there was a man named Simon who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the nation of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great.		Ἀνὴρ δέ τις ὀνόματι Σίμων προϋπῆρχεν ἐν τῇ πόλει μαγεύων καὶ ἐξιστάνων τὸ ἐθνος τῆς Σαμαρείας, λέγων εἶναί τινα ἑαυτὸν μέγαν,
10	They all gave heed to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is that power of God which is called Great."		ᾧ προσεῖχον πάντες ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἑως μεγάλου λέγοντες, Οὗτός ἐστιν ἡ δύναμις τοῦ θεοῦ ἡ καλουμένη Μεγάλη.
11	And they gave heed to him, because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic.		προσεῖχον δὲ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸ ἱκανῷ χρόνῳ ταῖς μαγείαις ἐξεστακέναι αὐτούς.
12	But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.		ὅτε δὲ ἐπίστευσαν τῷ Φιλίππῳ εὐαγγελιζομένῳ περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ ὀνόματος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἐβαπτίζοντο ἀνδρες τε καὶ γυναῖκες.
13	Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.		ὁ δὲ Σίμων καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπίστευσεν, καὶ βαπτισθεὶς ἦν προσκαρτερῶν τῷ Φιλίππῳ, θεωρῶν τε σημεῖα καὶ δυνάμεις μεγάλας γινομένας ἐξίστατο.
14	Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,		Ἀκούσαντες δὲ οἱ ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις ἀπόστολοι ὅτι δέδεκται ἡ Σαμάρεια τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Πέτρον καὶ Ἰωάννην,
15	who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit;		οἱτινες καταβάντες προσηύξαντο περὶ αὐτῶν ὁπως λάβωσιν Πνεῦμα ἀγιον·
16	for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.		οὐδέπω γὰρ ἦν ἐπ' οὐδενὶ αὐτῶν ἐπιπεπτωκός, μόνον δὲ βεβαπτισμένοι ὑπῆρχον εἰς τὸ ὀνομα τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ.
17	Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.		τότε ἐπετίθεσαν τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ' αὐτούς, καὶ ἐλάμβανον Πνεῦμα ἀγιον.
18	Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,		ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Σίμων ὅτι διὰ τῆς ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τῶν ἀποστόλων δίδοται τὸ Πνεῦμα, προσήνεγκεν αὐτοῖς χρήματα
19	saying, "Give me also this power, that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."		λέγων, Δότε κἀμοὶ τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην ἵνα ᾧ ἐὰν ἐπιθῶ τὰς χεῖρας λαμβάνῃ Πνεῦμα ἀγιον.
20	But Peter said to him, "Your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!		Πέτρος δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν, Τὸ ἀργύριόν σου σὺν σοὶ εἰη εἰς ἀπώλειαν, ὅτι τὴν δωρεὰν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐνόμισας διὰ χρημάτων κτᾶσθαι.
21	You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.		οὐκ ἐστιν σοι μερὶς οὐδὲ κλῆρος ἐν τῷ λόγῳ τούτῳ, ἡ γὰρ καρδία σου οὐκ ἐστιν εὐθεῖα ἐναντι τοῦ θεοῦ.
22	Repent therefore of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.		μετανόησον οὖν ἀπὸ τῆς κακίας σου ταύτης, καὶ δεήθητι τοῦ κυρίου εἰ ἀρα ἀφεθήσεταί σοι ἡ ἐπίνοια τῆς καρδίας σου·
23	For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity."		εἰς γὰρ χολὴν πικρίας καὶ σύνδεσμον ἀδικίας ὁρῶ σε ὀντα.
24	And Simon answered, "Pray for me to the Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me."		ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Σίμων εἶπεν, Δεήθητε ὑμεῖς ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὁπως μηδὲν ἐπέλθῃ ἐπ' ἐμὲ ὧν εἰρήκατε.
25	Now when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.		Οἱ μὲν οὖν διαμαρτυράμενοι καὶ λαλήσαντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου ὑπέστρεφον εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα, πολλάς τε κώμας τῶν Σαμαριτῶν εὐηγγελίζοντο.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
