11While he clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the portico called Solomon's, astounded.Peter's Speech in Solomon's Portico Ac.3.11-26 (Solomon's Portico, The Temple, Jerusalem)Κρατοῦντος δὲ αὐτοῦ τὸν Πέτρον καὶ τὸν Ἰωάννην συνέδραμεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τῇ στοᾷ τῇ καλουμένῃ Σολομῶντος ἐκθαμβοι.
12And when Peter saw it he addressed the people, "Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we had made him walk?  ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Πέτρος ἀπεκρίνατο πρὸς τὸν λαόν, Ἄνδρες Ἰσραηλῖται, τί θαυμάζετε ἐπὶ τούτῳ, ἢ ἡμῖν τί ἀτενίζετε ὡς ἰδίᾳ δυνάμει ἢ εὐσεβείᾳ πεποιηκόσιν τοῦ περιπατεῖν αὐ τόν;
13The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him. - The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, Ac.3.13 | Ex.3.6 | Is.52.13 | Is.53.11ὁ θεὸς ἀβραὰμ καὶ ὁ θεὸσ ἰσαὰκ καὶ ὁ θεὸσ ἰακώβ, ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν, ἐδόξασεν τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν, ὃν ὑμεῖς μὲν παρεδώκατε καὶ ἠρνήσασθε κατὰ πρόσωπον Πιλάτου, κρίναντος ἐκείνου ἀπολύειν·
14But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, ὑμεῖς δὲ τὸν ἀγιον καὶ δίκαιον ἠρνήσασθε, καὶ ᾐτήσασθε ἀνδρα φονέα χαρισθῆναι ὑμῖν,
15and killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
16And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know; and the faith which is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.
17"And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.  καὶ νῦν, ἀδελφοί, οἶδα ὅτι κατὰ ἀγνοιαν ἐπράξατε, ὡσπερ καὶ οἱ ἀρχοντες ὑμῶν·
18But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
19Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,  μετανοήσατε οὖν καὶ ἐπιστρέψατε εἰς τὸ ἐξαλειφθῆναι ὑμῶν τὰς ἀμαρτίας,
20that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah appointed for you, Jesus,
21whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.
22Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet from your brethren as he raised me up. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.- 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet Ac.3.22 | Dt.18.15-19Μωϋσῆς μὲν εἶπεν ὅτι προφήτην ὑμῖν ἀναστήσει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν ὡς ἐμέ: αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἂν λαλήσῃ πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
23And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.'- And it shall be that every soul that does not listen Ac.3.23 | Lv.23.29ἔσται δὲ πᾶσα ψυχὴ ἥτις ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσῃ τοῦ προφήτου ἐκείνου ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ.
24And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came afterwards, also proclaimed these days.
25You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God gave to your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your posterity shall all the families of the earth be blessed.' - the covenant which God gave to your fathers Ac.3.25 | Gn.12.3 | Gn.22.18ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν προφητῶν καὶ τῆς διαθήκης ἧς διέθετο ὁ θεὸς πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν, λέγων πρὸς Ἀβραάμ, Καὶ ἐν τῷ σπέρματί σου ἐνευλογηθήσονται πᾶσαι αἱ πατριαὶ τῆς γῆς.
26God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness."  ὑμῖν πρῶτον ἀναστήσας ὁ θεὸς τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν εὐλογοῦντα ὑμᾶς ἐν τῷ ἀποστρέφειν ἑκαστον ἀπὸ τῶν πονηριῶν ὑμῶν.

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
