25	"I have said this to you in figures; the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures but tell you plainly of the Father.	I Have Overcome the World Jn.16.25-33 (Jerusalem)	Ταῦτα ἐν παροιμίαις λελάληκα ὑμῖν· ἐρχεται ὡρα ὅτε οὐκέτι ἐν παροιμίαις λαλήσω ὑμῖν ἀλλὰ παρρησίᾳ περὶ τοῦ πατρὸς ἀπαγγελῶ ὑμῖν.
26	In that day you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you;		ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου αἰτήσεσθε, καὶ οὐ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐρωτήσω τὸν πατέρα περὶ ὑμῶν·
27	for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father.		αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ φιλεῖ ὑμᾶς, ὅτι ὑμεῖς ἐμὲ πεφιλήκατε καὶ πεπιστεύκατε ὅτι ἐγὼ παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐξῆλθον.
28	I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father."		ἐξῆλθον παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ ἐλήλυθα εἰς τὸν κόσμον· πάλιν ἀφίημι τὸν κόσμον καὶ πορεύομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα.
29	His disciples said, "Ah, now you are speaking plainly, not in any figure!		Λέγουσιν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, Ἴδε νῦν ἐν παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖς, καὶ παροιμίαν οὐδεμίαν λέγεις.
30	Now we know that you know all things, and need none to question you; by this we believe that you came from God."		νῦν οἰδαμεν ὅτι οἶδας πάντα καὶ οὐ χρείαν ἐχεις ἵνα τίς σε ἐρωτᾷ· ἐν τούτῳ πιστεύομεν ὅτι ἀπὸ θεοῦ ἐξῆλθες.
31	Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe?		ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς Ἰησοῦς, Ἄρτι πιστεύετὲ;
32	The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, every man to his home, and will leave me alone; yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.		ἰδοὺ ἐρχεται ὡρα καὶ ἐλήλυθεν ἵνα σκορπισθῆτε ἑκαστος εἰς τὰ ἰδια κἀμὲ μόνον ἀφῆτε· καὶ οὐκ εἰμὶ μόνος, ὅτι ὁ πατὴρ μετ' ἐμοῦ ἐστιν.
33	I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."		ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἵνα ἐν ἐμοὶ εἰρήνην ἐχητε· ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ θλῖψιν ἐχετε, ἀλλὰ θαρσεῖτε, ἐγὼ νενίκηκα τὸν κόσμον.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
