| 40 | but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God; this is not what Abraham did. | | νῦν δὲ ζητεῖτέ με ἀποκτεῖναι, ἄνθρωπον ὃς τὴν ἀλήθειαν ὑμῖν λελάληκα ἣν ἠκουσα παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ· τοῦτο Ἀβραὰμ οὐκ ἐποίησεν. |

| 43 | Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. | | διὰ τί τὴν λαλιὰν τὴν ἐμὴν οὐ γινώσκετὲ; ὅτι οὐ δύνασθε ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τὸν ἐμόν. |

| 45 | But, because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. | | ἐγὼ δὲ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι. |

| 46 | Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? | | τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με περὶ ἀμαρτίας; εἰ ἀλήθειαν λέγω, διὰ τί ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετέ μοὶ; |
