50Now there was a man named Joseph from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man,The Burial of Jesus Lk.23.50-56 (the garden) | Mt.27.57-61 | Mk.15.42-47 | Jn.19.38-42Καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ὀνόματι Ἰωσὴφ βουλευτὴς ὑπάρχων καὶ ἀνὴρ ἀγαθὸς καὶ δίκαιος
51who had not consented to their purpose and deed, and he was looking for the kingdom of God. - οὗτος οὐκ ἦν συγκατατεθειμένος τῇ βουλῇ καὶ τῇ πράξει αὐτῶν - ἀπὸ Ἁριμαθαίας πόλεως τῶν Ἰουδαίων, ὃς προσεδέχετο τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ,
52This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. οὗτος προσελθὼν τῷ Πιλάτῳ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ,
53Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud, and laid him in a rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid. καὶ καθελὼν ἐνετύλιξεν αὐτὸ σινδόνι, καὶ ἐθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐν μνήματι λαξευτῷ οὗ οὐκ ἦν οὐδεὶς οὐπω κείμενος.
54It was the day of Preparation, and the sabbath was beginning. καὶ ἡμέρα ἦν παρασκευῆς, καὶ σάββατον ἐπέφωσκεν.
55The women who had come with him from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid; Κατακολουθήσασαι δὲ αἱ γυναῖκες, αἱτινες ἦσαν συνεληλυθυῖαι ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας αὐτῷ, ἐθεάσαντο τὸ μνημεῖον καὶ ὡς ἐτέθη τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ,
56then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments.

On the sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

 ὑποστρέψασαι δὲ ἡτοίμασαν ἀρώματα καὶ μύρα. Καὶ τὸ μὲν σάββατον ἡσύχασαν κατὰ τὴν ἐντολήν,
