21 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

34'Keep a watch on yourselves; do not let your minds be dulled by dissipation and drunkenness and worldly cares so that the great Day closes upon you suddenly like a trap;Exhortation to Watch Lk.21.34-38 (Olivet)Προσέχετε δὲ ἑαυτοῖς μήποτε βαρηθῶσιν ὑμῶν αἱ καρδίαι ἐν κραιπάλῃ καὶ μέθῃ καὶ μερίμναις βιωτικαῖς, καὶ ἐπιστῇ ἐφ' ὑμᾶς αἰφνίδιος ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη·
35for that day will come on all men, wherever they are, the whole world over.
36Be on the alert, praying at all times for strength to pass safely through all these imminent troubles and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.'
37His days were given to teaching in the temple; and then he would leave the city and spend the night on the hill called Olivet.
38And in the early morning the people flocked to listen to him in the temple.

Some manuscripts here insert the passage relating the woman taken in adultery: John 7.53-8.11.
