13 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

6And he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree Lk.13.6-9 (Judaea)Ἔλεγεν δὲ ταύτην τὴν παραβολήν· Συκῆν εἶχέν τις πεφυτευμένην ἐν τῷ ἀμπελῶνι αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἦλθεν ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ οὐχ εὗρεν.
7And he said to the vinedresser, 'Lo, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down; why should it use up the ground?'  εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὸν ἀμπελουργόν, Ἰδοὺ τρία ἐτη ἀφ' οὗ ἐρχομαι ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν τῇ συκῇ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκω. ἐκκοψον οὖν αὐτήν· ἵνατί καὶ τὴν γῆν καταργεῖ;
8And he answered him, 'Let it alone, sir, this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure. ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτῷ, Κύριε, ἀφες αὐτὴν καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ἐτος, ἑως ὁτου σκάψω περὶ αὐτὴν καὶ βάλω κόπρια·
9And if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.' "  κἂν μὲν ποιήσῃ καρπὸν εἰς τὸ μέλλον - εἰ δὲ μή γε, ἐκκόψεις αὐτήν.

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
