16Then the soldiers took him inside the courtyard (the Governor's headquarters Greek: praetorium.) and called together the whole company. The Soldiers Mock Jesus Mk.15.16-20 (Jerusalem) | Mt.27.27-31 | Jn.19.2-3Οἱ δὲ στρατιῶται ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν ἐσω τῆς αὐλῆς, ὁ ἐστιν πραιτώριον, καὶ συγκαλοῦσιν ὁλην τὴν σπεῖραν.
17They dressed him in purple, and having plaited a crown of thorns, placed it on his head. καὶ ἐνδιδύσκουσιν αὐτὸν πορφύραν καὶ περιτιθέασιν αὐτῷ πλέξαντες ἀκάνθινον στέφανον·
18Then they began to salute him with, 'Hail, is King of the Jews!' καὶ ἠρξαντο ἀσπάζεσθαι αὐτόν, Χαῖρε, βασιλεῦ τῶν Ἰουδαίων·
19They beat him about the head with a cane and spat upon him, and then knelt and paid mock homage to him.  καὶ ἐτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν καλάμῳ καὶ ἐνέπτυον αὐτῷ, καὶ τιθέντες τὰ γόνατα προσεκύνουν αὐτῷ.
20When they had finished their mockery, they stripped him of the purple and dressed him in his own clothes.
 καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ, ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν πορφύραν καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ. καὶ ἐξάγουσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα σταυρώσωσιν αὐτόν.
