35and Jesus went on to say, as he taught in the temple, 'How can the teachers of the law maintain that the Messiah is "Son of David"?The Question about David's Son Mk.12.35-37 (Jerusalem) | Mt.22.41-46 | Lk.20.41-44Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐλεγεν διδάσκων ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ, Πῶς λέγουσιν οἱ γραμματεῖς ὅτι ὁ Χριστὸς υἱὸς Δαυίδ ἐστιν;
36David himself said, when inspired by the Holy Spirit,

"The Lord said to my Lord,
'Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool .'"

- The Lord said to my Lord Mk.12.36 | Ps.110.1αὐτὸς Δαυὶδ εἶπεν ἐν τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἀγίῳ,

εἶπεν κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου,
κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου
ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν σου.

37David himself calls him "Lord"; how can he also be David's son?'

There was a great crowd and they listened eagerly.

 αὐτὸς Δαυὶδ λέγει αὐτὸν κύριον, καὶ πόθεν αὐτοῦ ἐστιν υἱός; καὶ πολὺς ὀχλος ἠκουεν αὐτοῦ ἡδέως.
