35And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, "How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? The Question about David's Son Mk.12.35-37 (Jerusalem) | Mt.22.41-46 | Lk.20.41-44Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐλεγεν διδάσκων ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ, Πῶς λέγουσιν οἱ γραμματεῖς ὅτι ὁ Χριστὸς υἱὸς Δαυίδ ἐστιν;
36David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared,

'The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
till I put your enemies under your feet.'

- The Lord said to my Lord Mk.12.36 | Ps.110.1αὐτὸς Δαυὶδ εἶπεν ἐν τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἀγίῳ,

εἶπεν κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου,
κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου
ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν σου.

37David himself calls him Lord; so how is he his son?" And the great throng heard him gladly.  αὐτὸς Δαυὶδ λέγει αὐτὸν κύριον, καὶ πόθεν αὐτοῦ ἐστιν υἱός; καὶ πολὺς ὀχλος ἠκουεν αὐτοῦ ἡδέως.
