New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26) |
| 38 | John said to him, 'Master, we saw a man driving out devils in your name, and as he was not one of us, we tried to stop him.' | He Who is Not against Us is for Us Mk.9.38-41 (Capernaum) | Lk.9.48-50 | Ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰωάννης, Διδάσκαλε, εἰδομέν τινα ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ἐκβάλλοντα δαιμόνια, καὶ ἐκωλύομεν αὐτόν, ὅτι οὐκ ἠκολούθει ἡμῖν. |
| 39 | Jesus said, 'Do not stop him; no one who does a work of divine power in my name will be able in the same breath to speak evil of me.
| 40 | For he who is not against us is on our side. |
| 41 | I tell you this: if anyone gives you a cup of water to drink because you are followers of the Messiah, that man assuredly will not go unrewarded.
