| 2 | 'You know that in two days' time it will be Passover, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion.'
| | Οἰδατε ὅτι μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας τὸ πάσχα γίνεται, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς τὸ σταυρωθῆναι. |

| 3 | Then the chief priests and the elders of the nation met in the palace of the High Priest, Caiaphas; | | Τότε συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τοῦ λεγομένου Καϊάφα, |

| 4 | and there they conferred together on a scheme to have Jesus arrested by some trick and put to death. | | καὶ συνεβουλεύσαντο ἵνα τὸν Ἰησοῦν δόλῳ κρατήσωσιν καὶ ἀποκτείνωσιν· |

| 5 | 'It must not be during the festival,' they said, 'or there may be rioting among the people.'
| | ἐλεγον δέ, Μὴ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ, ἵνα μὴ θόρυβος γένηται ἐν τῷ λαῷ. |
