New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26) |
| "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? | The Faithful or the Unfaithful Servant Mt.24.45-51 (Olivet) | Lk.12.41-48 | Τίς ἀρα ἐστὶν ὁ πιστὸς δοῦλος καὶ φρόνιμος ὃν κατέστησεν ὁ κύριος ἐπὶ τῆς οἰκετείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτοῖς τὴν τροφὴν ἐν καιρῷ; |
| Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing. | | μακάριος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ εὑρήσει οὑτως ποιοῦντα· |
| Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. | | ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ὑπάρχουσιν αὐτοῦ καταστήσει αὐτόν. |
| But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' | | ἐὰν δὲ εἰπῃ ὁ κακὸς δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ, Χρονίζει μου ὁ κύριος, |
| and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eats and drinks with the drunken, | | καὶ ἀρξηται τύπτειν τοὺς συνδούλους αὐτοῦ, ἐσθίῃ δὲ καὶ πίνῃ μετὰ τῶν μεθυόντων, |
| the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, | | ἡξει ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ οὐ προσδοκᾷ καὶ ἐν ὡρᾳ ᾗ οὐ γινώσκει, |
| and will punish him, and will put him with the hypocrites; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. |
