9 New English Bible (New Testament) Passage New Testament in Greek (UBS.Ed.26)

9 1So he got into the boat and crossed over, and came to his own town.
The Healing of a Paralytic Mt.9.1-8 (Capernaum) | Mk.2.1-12 | Lk.5.17-26Καὶ ἐμβὰς εἰς πλοῖον διεπέρασεν καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν.
2And now some men brought him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith Jesus said to the man, 'Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.'
3At this some of the lawyers said to themselves, 'This is blasphemous talk.'
4Jesus knew what they were thinking, and said, 'Why do you harbour these evil thoughts? καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν, Ἱνατί ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;
5Is it easier to say, "Your sins are forgiven", or to say, "Stand up and walk"? τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν, Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἀμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν, Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτεὶ;
6But to convince you that the Son of Man has the right on earth to forgive sins'?he turned to the paralysed man?'stand up, take your bed, and go home.'
7Thereupon the man got up, and went off home.
8The people were filled with awe at the sight, and praised God for granting such authority to men.
