| 30 | In the distance a large herd of pigs was feeding; | | ἦν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπ' αὐτῶν ἀγέλη χοίρων πολλῶν βοσκομένη. |

| 31 | and the devils begged him: 'If you drive us out, send us into that herd of pigs.' | | οἱ δὲ δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν λέγοντες, Εἰ ἐκβάλλεις ἡμᾶς, ἀπόστειλον ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων. |

| 32 | 'Begone', he said. Then they came out and went into the pigs; the whole herd rushed over the edge into the lake, and perished in the water.
| | καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Ὑπάγετε. οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες ἀπῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους· καὶ ἰδοὺ ὡρμησεν πᾶσα ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀπέθανον ἐν τοῖς ὑδασιν. |

| 33 | The men in charge of them took to their heels, and made for the town, where they told the whole story, and what had happened to the madmen. | | οἱ δὲ βόσκοντες ἐφυγον, καὶ ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν πάντα καὶ τὰ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων. |

| 34 | Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him they begged him to leave the district and go. | | καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ὑπάντησιν τῷ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν παρεκάλεσαν ὁπως μεταβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν. |
