| 39 | But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; | | ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν μὴ ἀντιστῆναι τῷ πονηρῷ· ἀλλ' ὁστις σε ῥαπίζει εἰς τὴν δεξιὰν σιαγόνα σου, στρέψον αὐτῷ καὶ τὴν ἀλλην· |

| 40 | and if anyone would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; | | καὶ τῷ θέλοντί σοι κριθῆναι καὶ τὸν χιτῶνά σου λαβεῖν, ἀφες αὐτῷ καὶ τὸ ἱμάτιον· |
