| 44 1 | Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faces east; and it was shut. | Use of the east gate. Eze.44.1-3 | וַיָּשֶׁב אֹתִי דֶּרֶךְ שַׁעַר הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הַחִיצֹון הַפֹּנֶה קָדִים וְהוּא סָגוּר׃ |

| 2 | And he said to me, "This gate shall remain shut; it shall not be opened, and no one shall enter by it; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has entered by it; therefore it shall remain shut. | | וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי יְהוָה הַשַּׁעַר הַזֶּה סָגוּר יִהְיֶה לֹא יִפָּתֵחַ וְאִישׁ לֹא־יָבֹא בֹו כִּי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּא בֹו וְהָיָה סָגוּר׃ |

| 3 | Only the prince may sit in it to eat bread before Yahweh; he shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gate, and shall go out by the same way." | | אֶת־הַנָּשִׂיא נָשִׂיא הוּא יֵשֶׁב־בֹּו כ= לֶאֱכֹול ק= לֶאֱכָל־לֶחֶם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה מִדֶּרֶךְ אֻלָם הַשַּׁעַר יָבֹוא וּמִדַּרְכֹּו יֵצֵא׃ |
