| 16 | The word of Yahweh came to me: | Israel's new life. Eze.36.16-38 | וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃ |
|
| 17 | "Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their doings; their conduct before me was like the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity. | | בֶּן־אָדָם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יֹשְׁבִים עַל־אַדְמָתָם וַיְטַמְּאוּ אֹותָהּ בְּדַרְכָּם וּבַעֲלִילֹותָם כְּטֻמְאַת הַנִּדָּה הָיְתָה דַרְכָּם לְפָנָי׃ |

| 18 | So I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood which they had shed in the land, for the idols with which they had defiled it. | | וָאֶשְׁפֹּךְ חֲמָתִי עֲלֵיהֶם עַל־הַדָּם אֲשֶׁר־שָׁפְכוּ עַל־הָאָרֶץ וּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶם טִמְּאוּהָ׃ |

| 19 | I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; in accordance with their conduct and their deeds I judged them. | | וָאָפִיץ אֹתָם בַּגֹּויִם וַיִּזָּרוּ בָּאֲרָצֹות כְּדַרְכָּם וְכַעֲלִילֹותָם שְׁפַטְתִּים׃ |

| 20 | But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, 'These are the people of Yahweh, and yet they had to go out of his land.' | | וַיָּבֹוא אֶל־הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּ שָׁם וַיְחַלְּלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי בֶּאֱמֹר לָהֶם עַם־יְהוָה אֵלֶּה וּמֵאַרְצֹו יָצָאוּ׃ |

| 21 | But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel caused to be profaned among the nations to which they came. | | וָאֶחְמֹל עַל־שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר חִלְּלוּהוּ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּ שָׁמָּה׃ ס |
|
| 22 | "Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says Yahweh GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. | | לָכֵן אֱמֹר לְבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵל כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לֹא לְמַעַנְכֶם אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי אִם־לְשֵׁם־קָדְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר חִלַּלְתֶּם בַּגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר־בָּאתֶם שָׁם׃ |

| 23 | And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them; and the nations will know that I am Yahweh, says Yahweh GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. | | וְקִדַּשְׁתִּי אֶת־שְׁמִי הַגָּדֹול הַמְחֻלָּל בַּגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר חִלַּלְתֶּם בְּתֹוכָם וְיָדְעוּ הַגֹּויִם כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה בְּהִקָּדְשִׁי בָכֶם לְעֵינֵיהֶם׃ |
|
| 24 | For I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the countries, and bring you into your own land. | | וְלָקַחְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִן־הַגֹּויִם וְקִבַּצְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִכָּל־הָאֲרָצֹות וְהֵבֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם אֶל־אַדְמַתְכֶם׃ |
|
| 25 | I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. | | וְזָרַקְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם מַיִם טְהֹורִים וּטְהַרְתֶּם מִכֹּל טֻמְאֹותֵיכֶם וּמִכָּל־גִּלּוּלֵיכֶם אֲטַהֵר אֶתְכֶם׃ |

| 26 | A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. | | וְנָתַתִּי לָכֶם לֵב חָדָשׁ וְרוּחַ חֲדָשָׁה אֶתֵּן בְּקִרְבְּכֶם וַהֲסִרֹתִי אֶת־לֵב הָאֶבֶן מִבְּשַׂרְכֶם וְנָתַתִּי לָכֶם לֵב בָּשָׂר׃ |
|
| 27 | And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances. | | וְאֶת־רוּחִי אֶתֵּן בְּקִרְבְּכֶם וְעָשִׂיתִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר־בְּחֻקַּי תֵּלֵכוּ וּמִשְׁפָּטַי תִּשְׁמְרוּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם׃ |
|
| 28 | You shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. | | וִישַׁבְתֶּם בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם וִהְיִיתֶם לִי לְעָם וְאָנֹכִי אֶהְיֶה לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים׃ |
|
| 29 | And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses; and I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. | | וְהֹושַׁעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִכֹּל טֻמְאֹותֵיכֶם וְקָרָאתִי אֶל־הַדָּגָן וְהִרְבֵּיתִי אֹתֹו וְלֹא־אֶתֵּן עֲלֵיכֶם רָעָב׃ |
|
| 30 | I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. | | וְהִרְבֵּיתִי אֶת־פְּרִי הָעֵץ וּתְנוּבַת הַשָּׂדֶה לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא תִקְחוּ עֹוד חֶרְפַּת רָעָב בַּגֹּויִם׃ |
|
| 31 | Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominable deeds. | | וּזְכַרְתֶּם אֶת־דַּרְכֵיכֶם הָרָעִים וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־טֹובִים וּנְקֹטֹתֶם בִּפְנֵיכֶם עַל עֲוֹנֹתֵיכֶם וְעַל תֹּועֲבֹותֵיכֶם׃ |
|
| 32 | It is not for your sake that I will act, says Yahweh GOD; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel. | | לֹא לְמַעַנְכֶם אֲנִי־עֹשֶׂה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה יִוָּדַע לָכֶם בֹּושׁוּ וְהִכָּלְמוּ מִדַּרְכֵיכֶם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ ס |
|
| 33 | "Thus says Yahweh GOD: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. | | כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה בְּיֹום טַהֲרִי אֶתְכֶם מִכֹּל עֲוֹנֹותֵיכֶם וְהֹושַׁבְתִּי אֶת־הֶעָרִים וְנִבְנוּ הֶחֳרָבֹות׃ |
|
| 34 | And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. | | וְהָאָרֶץ הַנְּשַׁמָּה תֵּעָבֵד תַּחַת אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה שְׁמָמָה לְעֵינֵי כָּל־עֹובֵר׃ |
|
| 35 | And they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now inhabited and fortified.' | | וְאָמְרוּ הָאָרֶץ הַלֵּזוּ הַנְּשַׁמָּה הָיְתָה כְּגַן־עֵדֶן וְהֶעָרִים הֶחֳרֵבֹות וְהַנְשַׁמֹּות וְהַנֶּהֱרָסֹות בְּצוּרֹות יָשָׁבוּ׃ |
|
| 36 | Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt the ruined places, and replanted that which was desolate; I, Yahweh, have spoken, and I will do it. | | וְיָדְעוּ הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר יִשָּׁאֲרוּ סְבִיבֹותֵיכֶם כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה בָּנִיתִי הַנֶּהֱרָסֹות נָטַעְתִּי הַנְּשַׁמָּה אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי וְעָשִׂיתִי׃ ס |
|
| 37 | "Thus says Yahweh GOD: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their men like a flock. | | כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה עֹוד זֹאת אִדָּרֵשׁ לְבֵית־יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲשֹׂות לָהֶם אַרְבֶּה אֹתָם כַּצֹּאן אָדָם׃ |
|
| 38 | Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they will know that I am Yahweh." | | כְּצֹאן קָדָשִׁים כְּצֹאן יְרוּשָׁלִַם בְּמֹועֲדֶיהָ כֵּן תִּהְיֶינָה הֶעָרִים הֶחֳרֵבֹות מְלֵאֹות צֹאן אָדָם וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ ס |
