15Thus Yahweh, the God of Israel, said to me: "Take from my hand this cup of the wine of wrath, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.God's judgement on the nations. Jr.25.15-38כִּי כֹה אָמַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵלַי קַח אֶת־כֹּוס הַיַּיִן הַחֵמָה הַזֹּאת מִיָּדִי וְהִשְׁקִיתָה אֹתֹו אֶת־כָּל־הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ אֹותְךָ אֲלֵיהֶם׃
16They shall drink and stagger and be crazed because of the sword which I am sending among them." וְשָׁתוּ וְהִתְגֹּעֲשׁוּ וְהִתְהֹלָלוּ מִפְּנֵי הַחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ בֵּינֹתָם׃
17So I took the cup from Yahweh's hand, and made all the nations to whom Yahweh sent me drink it: וָאֶקַּח אֶת־הַכֹּוס מִיַּד יְהוָה וָאַשְׁקֶה אֶת־כָּל־הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר־שְׁלָחַנִי יְהוָה אֲלֵיהֶם׃
18Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and princes, to make them a desolation and a waste, a hissing and a curse, as at this day; אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלִַם וְאֶת־עָרֵי יְהוּדָה וְאֶת־מְלָכֶיהָ אֶת־שָׂרֶיהָ לָתֵת אֹתָם לְחָרְבָּה לְשַׁמָּה לִשְׁרֵקָה וְלִקְלָלָה כַּיֹּום הַזֶּה׃
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, all his people, אֶת־פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וְאֶת־עֲבָדָיו וְאֶת־שָׂרָיו וְאֶת־כָּל־עַמֹּו׃
20and all the foreign folk among them; all the kings of the land of Uz and all the kings of the land of the Philistines (Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);  וְאֵת כָּל־הָעֶרֶב וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי אֶרֶץ הָעוּץ וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי אֶרֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּים וְאֶת־אַשְׁקְלֹון וְאֶת־עַזָּה וְאֶת־עֶקְרֹון וְאֵת שְׁאֵרִית אַשְׁדֹּוד׃
21Edom, Moab, and the sons of Ammon; אֶת־אֱדֹום וְאֶת־מֹואָב וְאֶת־בְּנֵי עַמֹּון׃
22all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastland across the sea; וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי־צֹר וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי צִידֹון וְאֵת מַלְכֵי הָאִי אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵבֶר הַיָּם׃
23Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who cut the corners of their hair; וְאֶת־דְּדָן וְאֶת־תֵּימָא וְאֶת־בּוּז וְאֵת כָּל־קְצוּצֵי פֵאָה׃
24all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the mixed tribes that dwell in the desert; וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי עֲרָב וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי הָעֶרֶב הַשֹּׁכְנִים בַּמִּדְבָּר׃
25all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media; וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי זִמְרִי וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי עֵילָם וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי מָדָי׃
26all the kings of the north, far and near, one after another, and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. And after them the king of Babylon shall drink.  וְאֵת כָּל־מַלְכֵי הַצָּפֹון הַקְּרֹבִים וְהָרְחֹקִים אִישׁ אֶל־אָחִיו וְאֵת כָּל־הַמַּמְלְכֹות הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וּמֶלֶךְ שֵׁשַׁךְ יִשְׁתֶּה אַחֲרֵיהֶם׃
27"Then you shall say to them, 'Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, be drunk and vomit, fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I am sending among you.'  וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם ס כֹּה־אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁתוּ וְשִׁכְרוּ וּקְיוּ וְנִפְלוּ וְלֹא תָקוּמוּ מִפְּנֵי הַחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ בֵּינֵיכֶם׃
28"And if they refuse to accept the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, 'Thus says Yahweh of hosts: You must drink!  וְהָיָה כִּי יְמָאֲנוּ לָקַחַת־הַכֹּוס מִיָּדְךָ לִשְׁתֹּות וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות שָׁתֹו תִשְׁתּוּ׃
29For behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name, and shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, says Yahweh of hosts.'  כִּי הִנֵּה בָעִיר אֲשֶׁר נִקְרָא־שְׁמִי עָלֶיהָ אָנֹכִי מֵחֵל לְהָרַע וְאַתֶּם הִנָּקֵה תִנָּקוּ לֹא תִנָּקוּ כִּי חֶרֶב אֲנִי קֹרֵא עַל־כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות׃
30"You, therefore, shall prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:

'Yahweh will roar from on high,
and from his holy habitation utter his voice;
he will roar mightily against his fold,
and shout, like those who tread grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.

 וְאַתָּה תִּנָּבֵא אֲלֵיהֶם אֵת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם יְהוָה מִמָּרֹום יִשְׁאָג וּמִמְּעֹון קָדְשֹׁו יִתֵּן קֹולֹו שָׁאֹג יִשְׁאַג עַל־נָוֵהוּ הֵידָד כְּדֹרְכִים יַעֲנֶה אֶל כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ׃
31The clamor will resound to the ends of the earth,
for Yahweh has an indictment against the nations;
he is entering into judgment with all flesh,
and the wicked he will put to the sword,
says Yahweh.'
 בָּא שָׁאֹון עַד־קְצֵה הָאָרֶץ כִּי רִיב לַיהוָה בַּגֹּויִם נִשְׁפָּט הוּא לְכָל־בָּשָׂר הָרְשָׁעִים נְתָנָם לַחֶרֶב נְאֻם־יְהוָה׃ ס
32"Thus says Yahweh of hosts:
Behold, evil is going forth from nation to nation,
and a great tempest is stirring
from the farthest parts of the earth!		 כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות הִנֵּה רָעָה יֹצֵאת מִגֹּוי אֶל־גֹּוי וְסַעַר גָּדֹול יֵעֹור מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־אָרֶץ׃
33"And those slain by Yahweh on that day shall extend from one end of the earth to the other. They shall not be lamented, or gathered, or buried; they shall be dung on the surface of the ground.  וְהָיוּ חַלְלֵי יְהוָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ וְעַד־קְצֵה הָאָרֶץ לֹא יִסָּפְדוּ וְלֹא יֵאָסְפוּ וְלֹא יִקָּבֵרוּ לְדֹמֶן עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה יִהְיוּ׃
34"Wail, you shepherds, and cry,
and roll in ashes, you lords of the flock,
for the days of your slaughter and dispersion have come,
and you shall fall like choice rams.
 הֵילִילוּ הָרֹעִים וְזַעֲקוּ וְהִתְפַּלְּשׁוּ אַדִּירֵי הַצֹּאן כִּי־מָלְאוּ יְמֵיכֶם לִטְבֹוחַ וּתְפֹוצֹותִיכֶם וּנְפַלְתֶּם כִּכְלִי חֶמְדָּה׃
35No refuge will remain for the shepherds,
nor escape for the lords of the flock.
 וְאָבַד מָנֹוס מִן־הָרֹעִים וּפְלֵיטָה מֵאַדִּירֵי הַצֹּאן׃
36Hark, the cry of the shepherds,
and the wail of the lords of the flock!
For Yahweh is despoiling their pasture,
 קֹול צַעֲקַת הָרֹעִים וִילְלַת אַדִּירֵי הַצֹּאן כִּי־שֹׁדֵד יְהוָה אֶת־מַרְעִיתָם׃
37and the peaceful folds are devastated,
because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
 וְנָדַמּוּ נְאֹות הַשָּׁלֹום מִפְּנֵי חֲרֹון אַף־יְהוָה׃
38Like a lion he has left his covert,
for their land has become a waste
because of the sword of the oppressor,
and because of his fierce anger."		 עָזַב כַּכְּפִיר סֻכֹּו כִּי־הָיְתָה אַרְצָם לְשַׁמָּה מִפְּנֵי חֲרֹון הַיֹּונָה וּמִפְּנֵי חֲרֹון אַפֹּו׃ ף

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
