| 16 | Bind up the testimony, seal the teaching among my disciples. | Warning against consulting fortune-tellers & mediums. Is.8.16-20 | צֹור תְּעוּדָה חֲתֹום תֹּורָה בְּלִמֻּדָי׃ |

| 17 | I will wait for Yahweh, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him. | | וְחִכִּיתִי לַיהוָה הַמַּסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִבֵּית יַעֲקֹב וְקִוֵּיתִי־לֹו׃ |

| 18 | Behold, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are signs and portents in Israel from Yahweh of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion. | | הִנֵּה אָנֹכִי וְהַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר נָתַן־לִי יְהוָה לְאֹתֹות וּלְמֹופְתִים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעִם יְהוָה צְבָאֹות הַשֹּׁכֵן בְּהַר צִיֹּון׃ ס |

| 19 | And when they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the wizards who chirp and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? | | וְכִי־יֹאמְרוּ אֲלֵיכֶם דִּרְשׁוּ אֶל־הָאֹבֹות וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִים הַמְצַפְצְפִים וְהַמַּהְגִּים הֲלֹוא־עַם אֶל־אֱלֹהָיו יִדְרֹשׁ בְּעַד הַחַיִּים אֶל־הַמֵּתִים׃ |

| 20 | To the teaching and to the testimony! Surely for this word which they speak there is no dawn. | | לְתֹורָה וְלִתְעוּדָה אִם־לֹא יֹאמְרוּ כַּדָּבָר הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אֵין־לֹו שָׁחַר׃ |
