10 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE Passage Biblia Hebraica

21Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt."The plagues - darkness.
22So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;
23they did not see one another, nor did any rise from his place for three days; but all the people of Israel had light where they dwelt.
24Then Pharaoh called Moses, and said, "Go, serve Yahweh; your children also may go with you; only let your flocks and your herds remain behind."
25But Moses said, "You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our God.
26Our cattle also must go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we must take of them to serve Yahweh our God, and we do not know with what we must serve Yahweh until we arrive there."
27But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
28Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me; take heed to yourself; never see my face again; for in the day you see my face you shall die."11 וַיֹּאמֶר־לֹו פַרְעֹה לֵךְ מֵעָלָי הִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ אֶל־תֹּסֶף רְאֹות פָּנַי כִּי בְּיֹום רְאֹתְךָ פָנַי תָּמוּת׃
29Moses said, "As you say! I will not see your face again."

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
