| A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. | Longing for God. Psalm 63(v62) | מִזְמֹור לְדָוִד בִּהְיֹותֹו בְּמִדְבַּר יְהוּדָה׃ | |
| 63 1 | O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where no water is. | אֱלֹהִים אֵלִי אַתָּה אֲשַׁחֲרֶךָּ צָמְאָה לְךָ נַפְשִׁי כָּמַהּ לְךָ בְשָׂרִי בְּאֶרֶץ־צִיָּה וְעָיֵף בְּלִי־מָיִם׃ | |
| 2 | So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. | כֵּן בַּקֹּדֶשׁ חֲזִיתִיךָ לִרְאֹות עֻזְּךָ וּכְבֹודֶךָ׃ | |
| 3 | Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. | כִּי־טֹוב חַסְדְּךָ מֵחַיִּים שְׂפָתַי יְשַׁבְּחוּנְךָ׃ | |
| 4 | So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on your name. | כֵּן אֲבָרֶךְךָ בְחַיָּי בְּשִׁמְךָ אֶשָּׂא כַפָּי׃ | |
| 5 | My soul is feasted as with marrow and fat, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips, | כְּמֹו חֵלֶב וָדֶשֶׁן תִּשְׂבַּע נַפְשִׁי וְשִׂפְתֵי רְנָנֹות יְהַלֶּל־פִּי׃ | |
| 6 | when I think of you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; | אִם־זְכַרְתִּיךָ עַל־יְצוּעָי בְּאַשְׁמֻרֹות אֶהְגֶּה־בָּךְ׃ | |
| 7 | for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy. | כִּי־הָיִיתָ עֶזְרָתָה לִּי וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ אֲרַןֵּן׃ | |
| 8 | My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. | דָּבְקָה נַפְשִׁי אַחֲרֶיךָ בִּי תָּמְכָה יְמִינֶךָ׃ | |
| 9 | But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth; | וְהֵמָּה לְשֹׁואָה יְבַקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי יָבֹאוּ בְּתַחְתִּיֹּות הָאָרֶץ׃ | |
| 10 | they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals. | יַגִּירֻהוּ עַל־יְדֵי־חָרֶב מְנָת שֻׁעָלִים יִהְיוּ׃ | |
| 11 | But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall glory; for the mouths of liars will be stopped. | וְהַמֶּלֶךְ יִשְׂמַח בֵּאלֹהִים יִתְהַלֵּל כָּל־הַנִּשְׁבָּע בֹּו כִּי יִסָּכֵר פִּי דֹובְרֵי־שָׁקֶר׃ | |
