| 31 1 | In you, O Yahweh, do I seek refuge; let me never be put to shame; In your righteousness deliver me! | בְּךָ יְהוָה חָסִיתִי אַל־אֵבֹושָׁה לְעֹולָם בְּצִדְקָתְךָ פַלְּטֵנִי׃ | |
| 2 | Incline your ear to me, rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! | הַטֵּה אֵלַי אָזְנְךָ מְהֵרָה הַצִּילֵנִי הֱיֵה לִי לְצוּר־מָעֹוז לְבֵית מְצוּדֹות לְהֹושִׁיעֵנִי׃ | |
| 3 | Yea, you are my rock and my fortress; for your name's sake lead me and guide me, | כִּי־סַלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אָתָּה וּלְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ תַּנְחֵנִי וּתְנַהֲלֵנִי׃ | |
| 4 | take me out of the net which is hidden for me, for you are my refuge. | תֹּוצִיאֵנִי מֵרֶשֶׁת זוּ טָמְנוּ לִי כִּי־אַתָּה מָעוּזִּי׃ | |
| 5 | Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Yahweh, faithful God. | בְּיָדְךָ אַפְקִיד רוּחִי פָּדִיתָה אֹותִי יְהוָה אֵל אֱמֶת׃ | |
| 6 | You hate those who pay regard to vain idols; but I trust in Yahweh. | שָׂנֵאתִי הַשֹּׁמְרִים הַבְלֵי־שָׁוְא וַאֲנִי אֶל־יְהוָה בָּטָחְתִּי׃ | |
| 7 | I will rejoice and be glad for your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction, you have taken heed of my adversities, | אָגִילָה וְאֶשְׂמְחָה בְּחַסְדֶּךָ אֲשֶׁר רָאִיתָ אֶת־עָנְיִי יָדַעְתָּ בְּצָרֹות נַפְשִׁי׃ | |
| 8 | and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place. | וְלֹא הִסְגַּרְתַּנִי בְּיַד־אֹויֵב הֶעֱמַדְתָּ בַמֶּרְחָב רַגְלָי׃ | |
| 9 | Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief, my soul and my body also. | חָנֵּנִי יְהוָה כִּי צַר־לִי עָשְׁשָׁה בְכַעַס עֵינִי נַפְשִׁי וּבִטְנִי׃ | |
| 10 | For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my misery, and my bones waste away. | כִּי כָלוּ בְיָגֹון חַיַּי וּשְׁנֹותַי בַּאֲנָחָה כָּשַׁל בַּעֲוֹנִי כֹחִי וַעֲצָמַי עָשֵׁשׁוּ׃ | |
| 11 | I am the scorn of all my adversaries, a horror to my neighbours, an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me. | מִכָּל־צֹרְרַי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה וְלִשֲׁכֵנַי מְאֹד וּפַחַד לִמְיֻדָּעָי רֹאַי בַּחוּץ נָדְדוּ מִמֶּנִּי׃ | |
| 12 | I have passed out of mind like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel. | נִשְׁכַּחְתִּי כְּמֵת מִלֵּב הָיִיתִי כִּכְלִי אֹבֵד׃ | |
| 13 | Yea, I hear the whispering of many - terror on every side! - as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life. | כִּי שָׁמַעְתִּי דִּבַּת רַבִּים מָגֹור מִסָּבִיב בְּהִוָּסְדָם יַחַד עָלַי לָקַחַת נַפְשִׁי זָמָמוּ׃ | |
| 14 | But I trust in you, O Yahweh, I say, "You are my God." | וַאֲנִי עָלֶיךָ בָטַחְתִּי יְהוָה אָמַרְתִּי אֱלֹהַי אָתָּה׃ | |
| 15 | My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors! | בְּיָדְךָ עִתֹּתָי הַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד־אֹויְבַי וּמֵרֹדְפָי׃ | |
| 16 | Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love! | הָאִירָה פָנֶיךָ עַל־עַבְדֶּךָ הֹושִׁיעֵנִי בְחַסְדֶּךָ׃ | |
| 17 | Let me not be put to shame, O Yahweh, for I call on you; let the wicked be put to shame, let them go dumbfounded to Sheol. | יְהוָה אַל־אֵבֹושָׁה כִּי קְרָאתִיךָ יֵבֹשׁוּ רְשָׁעִים יִדְּמוּ לִשְׁאֹול׃ | |
| 18 | Let the lying lips be dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt. | תֵּאָלַמְנָה שִׂפְתֵי שָׁקֶר הַדֹּבְרֹות עַל־צַדִּיק עָתָק בְּגַאֲוָה וָבוּז׃ | |
| 19 | O how abundant is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, and wrought for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the sons of men! | מָה רַב־טוּבְךָ אֲשֶׁר־צָפַנְתָּ לִּירֵאֶיךָ פָּעַלְתָּ לַחֹסִים בָּךְ נֶגֶד בְּנֵי אָדָם׃ | |
| 20 | In the covert of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you hold them safe under your shelter from the strife of tongues. | תַּסְתִּירֵם בְּסֵתֶר פָּנֶיךָ מֵרֻכְסֵי אִישׁ תִּצְפְּנֵם בְּסֻכָּה מֵרִיב לְשֹׁנֹות׃ | |
| 21 | Blessed be Yahweh, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was beset as in a besieged city. | בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה כִּי הִפְלִיא חַסְדֹּו לִי בְּעִיר מָצֹור׃ | |
| 22 | I had said in my alarm, "I am driven far from your sight." But you heard my supplications, when I cried to you for help. | וַאֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחָפְזִי נִגְרַזְתִּי מִנֶּגֶד עֵינֶיךָ אָכֵן שָׁמַעְתָּ קֹול תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ׃ | |
| 23 | Love Yahweh, all you his saints! Yahweh preserves the faithful, but abundantly requites him who acts haughtily. | אֶהֱבוּ אֶת־יְהוָה כָּל־חֲסִידָיו אֱמוּנִים נֹצֵר יְהוָה וּמְשַׁלֵּם עַל־יֶתֶר עֹשֵׂה גַאֲוָה׃ | |
| 24 | Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for Yahweh! | חִזְקוּ וְיַאֲמֵץ לְבַבְכֶם כָּל־הַמְיַחֲלִים לַיהוָה׃ | |
