8 1	These are the heads of their fathers' houses, and this is the genealogy of those who went up with me from Babylonia, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king:	Census - Those who returned with Ezra. 3	of the sons of Shecaniah. Of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, with whom were registered one hundred and fifty men.		מִבְּנֵי שְׁכַנְיָה ס מִבְּנֵי פַרְעֹשׁ זְכַרְיָה וְעִמֹּו הִתְיַחֵשׂ לִזְכָרִים מֵאָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים׃ ס
4	Of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred men.		מִבְּנֵי פַּחַת מֹואָב אֶלְיְהֹועֵינַי בֶּן־זְרַחְיָה וְעִמֹּו מָאתַיִם הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
5	Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred men.		מִבְּנֵי שְׁכַנְיָה בֶּן־יַחֲזִיאֵל וְעִמֹּו שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
6	Of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty men.		וּמִבְּנֵי עָדִין עֶבֶד בֶּן־יֹונָתָן וְעִמֹּו חֲמִשִּׁים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
7	Of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy men.		וּמִבְּנֵי עֵילָם יְשַׁעְיָה בֶּן־עֲתַלְיָה וְעִמֹּו שִׁבְעִים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
8	Of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him eighty men.		וּמִבְּנֵי שְׁפַטְיָה זְבַדְיָה בֶּן־מִיכָאֵל וְעִמֹּו שְׁמֹנִים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
9	Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen men.		מִבְּנֵי יֹואָב עֹבַדְיָה בֶּן־יְחִיאֵל וְעִמֹּו מָאתַיִם וּשְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
10	Of the sons of Bani, Shelomith the son of Josiphiah, and with him a hundred and sixty men.		וּמִבְּנֵי שְׁלֹומִית בֶּן־יֹוסִפְיָה וְעִמֹּו מֵאָה וְשִׁשִּׁים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
11	Of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, the son of Bebai, and with him twenty-eight men.		וּמִבְּנֵי בֵבַי זְכַרְיָה בֶּן־בֵּבָי וְעִמֹּו עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁמֹנָה הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
12	Of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him a hundred and ten men.		וּמִבְּנֵי עַזְגָּד יֹוחָןָן בֶּן־הַקָּטָן וְעִמֹּו מֵאָה וַעֲשָׂרָה הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
13	Of the sons of Adonikam, those who came later, their names being Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and with them sixty men.		וּמִבְּנֵי אֲדֹנִיקָם אַחֲרֹנִים וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמֹותָם אֱלִיפֶלֶט יְעִיאֵל וּשְׁמַעְיָה וְעִמָּהֶם שִׁשִּׁים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ס
14	Of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zaccur, and with them seventy men.		וּמִבְּנֵי בִגְוַי עוּתַי כ= וְזָבוּד ק= וְזַכּוּר וְעִמֹּו שִׁבְעִים הַזְּכָרִים׃ ף

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
