12 1Now these are the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he could not move about freely because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men who helped him in war.David's Benjamite soldiers. 1Chr.12.1-7וְאֵלֶּה הַבָּאִים אֶל־דָּוִיד לְצִיקְלַג עֹוד עָצוּר מִפְּנֵי שָׁאוּל בֶּן־קִישׁ וְהֵמָּה בַּגִּבֹּורִים עֹזְרֵי הַמִּלְחָמָה׃
2They were bowmen, and could shoot arrows and sling stones with either the right or the left hand; they were Benjaminites, Saul's kinsmen. נֹשְׁקֵי קֶשֶׁת מַיְמִינִים וּמַשְׂמִאלִים בָּאֲבָנִים וּבַחִצִּים בַּקָּשֶׁת מֵאֲחֵי שָׁאוּל מִבִּנְיָמִן׃
3The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, both sons of Shemaah of Gibeah; also Jeziel and Pelet the sons of Azmaveth; Beracah, Jehu of Anathoth, הָרֹאשׁ אֲחִיעֶזֶר וְיֹואָשׁ בְּנֵי הַשְּׁמָעָה הַגִּבְעָתִי כ= וִיזוּאֵל ק= וִיזִיאֵל וָפֶלֶט בְּנֵי עַזְמָוֶת וּבְרָכָה וְיֵהוּא הָעֲנְּתֹתִי׃
4Ishmaiah of Gibeon, a mighty man among the thirty and a leader over the thirty; Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, Jozabad of Gederah, וְיִרְמְיָה וְיַחֲזִיאֵל וְיֹוחָןָן וְיֹוזָבָד הַגְּדֵרָתִי׃
4Ishmaiah of Gibeon, a mighty man among the thirty and a leader over the thirty; Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, Jozabad of Gederah, וְיִשְׁמַעְיָה הַגִּבְעֹונִי גִּבֹּור בַּשְּׁלֹשִׁים וְעַל־הַשְּׁלֹשִׁים׃
5Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, Shephatiah the Haruphite; אֶלְעוּזַי וִירִימֹות וּבְעַלְיָה וּשְׁמַרְיָהוּ וּשְׁפַטְיָהוּ כ= הַחֲרִיפִי ק= הַחֲרוּפִי׃
6Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites; אֶלְקָנָה וְיִשִּׁיָּהוּ וַעֲזַרְאֵל וְיֹועֶזֶר וְיָשָׁבְעָם הַקָּרְחִים׃
7and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor. וְיֹועֵאלָה וּזְבַדְיָה בְּנֵי יְרֹחָם מִן־הַגְּדֹור׃

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
