9 1	So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and these are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was taken into exile in Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.	Those who returned from captivity. 1Chr.9.1-9	וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל הִתְיַחְשׂוּ וְהִנָּם כְּתוּבִים עַל־סֵפֶר מַלְכֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוּדָה הָגְלוּ לְבָבֶל בְּמַעֲלָם׃ ס
2	Now the first to dwell again in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the temple servants.		וְהַיֹּושְׁבִים הָרִאשֹׁנִים אֲשֶׁר בַּאֲחֻזָּתָם בְּעָרֵיהֶם יִשְׂרָאֵל הַכֹּהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּם וְהַנְּתִינִים׃
3	And some of the people of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh dwelt in Jerusalem:		וּבִירוּשָׁלִַם יָשְׁבוּ מִן־בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּמִן־בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן וּמִן־בְּנֵי אֶפְרַיִם וּמְנַשֶּׁה׃
4	Uthai the son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, from the sons of Perez the son of Judah.		עוּתַי בֶּן־עַמִּיהוּד בֶּן־עָמְרִי בֶּן־אִמְרִי בֶן־כ= בָּנִימִן ק= בָּנִי ק= מִן־בְּנֵי־פֶרֶץ בֶּן־יְהוּדָה׃
5	And of the Shilonites: Asaiah the first-born, and his sons.		וּמִן־הַשִּׁילֹונִי עֲשָׂיָה הַבְּכֹור וּבָנָיו׃
6	Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their kinsmen, six hundred and ninety.		וּמִן־בְּנֵי־זֶרַח יְעוּאֵל וַאֲחֵיהֶם שֵׁשׁ־מֵאֹות וְתִשְׁעִים׃
7	Of the Benjaminites: Sallu the son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah,		וּמִן־בְּנֵי בִּנְיָמִן סַלּוּא בֶּן־מְשֻׁלָּם בֶּן־הֹודַוְיָה בֶּן־הַסְּנֻאָה׃
8	Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, Elah the son of Uzzi, son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;		וְיִבְנְיָה בֶּן־יְרֹחָם וְאֵלָה בֶן־עֻזִּי בֶּן־מִכְרִי וּמְשֻׁלָּם בֶּן־שְׁפַטְיָה בֶּן־רְעוּאֵל בֶּן־יִבְנִיָּה׃
9	and their kinsmen according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six. All these were heads of fathers' houses according to their fathers' houses.		וַאֲחֵיהֶם לְתֹלְדֹותָם תְּשַׁע מֵאֹות וַחֲמִשִּׁים וְשִׁשָּׁה כָּל־אֵלֶּה אֲנָשִׁים רָאשֵׁי אָבֹות לְבֵית אֲבֹתֵיהֶם׃ ס

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
