31These are the men whom David put in charge of the service of song in the house of Yahweh, after the ark rested there.Temple musicians. 1Chr.6.31-48וְאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר הֶעֱמִיד דָּוִיד עַל־יְדֵי־שִׁיר בֵּית יְהוָה מִמְּנֹוחַ הָאָרֹון׃
32They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem; and they performed their service in due order. וַיִּהְיוּ מְשָׁרְתִים לִפְנֵי מִשְׁכַּן אֹהֶל־מֹועֵד בַּשִּׁיר עַד־בְּנֹות שְׁלֹמֹה אֶת־בֵּית יְהוָה בִּירוּשָׁלִָם וַיַּעַמְדוּ כְמִשְׁפָּטָם עַל־עֲבֹודָתָם׃
33These are the men who served and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer the son of Joel, son of Samuel, וְאֵלֶּה הָעֹמְדִים וּבְנֵיהֶם מִבְּנֵי הַקְּהָתִי הֵימָן הַמְשֹׁורֵר בֶּן־יֹואֵל בֶּן־שְׁמוּאֵל׃
34son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah, בֶּן־אֶלְקָנָה בֶּן־יְרֹחָם בֶּן־אֱלִיאֵל בֶּן־תֹּוחַ׃
35son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai, בֶּן־כ= צִיף ק= צוּף בֶּן־אֶלְקָנָה בֶּן־מַחַת בֶּן־עֲמָשָׂי׃
36son of Elkanah, son of Joel, son of Azariah, son of Zephaniah, בֶּן־אֶלְקָנָה בֶּן־יֹואֵל בֶּן־עֲזַרְיָה בֶּן־צְפַנְיָה׃
37son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, בֶּן־תַּחַת בֶּן־אַסִּיר בֶּן־אֶבְיָסָף בֶּן־קֹרַח׃
38son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel; בֶּן־יִצְהָר בֶּן־קְהָת בֶּן־לֵוִי בֶּן־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃
39and his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, namely, Asaph the son of Berechiah, son of Shimea, וְאָחִיו אָסָף הָעֹמֵד עַל־יְמִינֹו אָסָף בֶּן־בֶּרֶכְיָהוּ בֶּן־שִׁמְעָא׃
40son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah, בֶּן־מִיכָאֵל בֶּן־בַּעֲשֵׂיָה בֶּן־מַלְכִּיָּה׃
41son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah, בֶּן־אֶתְנִי בֶן־זֶרַח בֶּן־עֲדָיָה׃
42son of Ethan, son of Zimmah, son of Shimei, בֶּן־אֵיתָן בֶּן־זִמָּה בֶּן־שִׁמְעִי׃
43son of Jahath, son of Gershom, son of Levi. בֶּן־יַחַת בֶּן־גֵּרְשֹׁם בֶּן־לֵוִי׃ ס
44On the left hand were their brethren the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch, וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי אֲחֵיהֶם עַל־הַשְּׂמֹאול אֵיתָן בֶּן־קִישִׁי בֶּן־עַבְדִּי בֶּן־מַלּוּךְ׃
45son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah, בֶּן־חֲשַׁבְיָה בֶן־אֲמַצְיָה בֶּן־חִלְקִיָּה׃
46son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer, בֶּן־אַמְצִי בֶן־בָּנִי בֶּן־שָׁמֶר׃
47son of Mahli, son of Mushi, son of Merari, son of Levi; בֶּן־מַחְלִי בֶּן־מוּשִׁי בֶּן־מְרָרִי בֶּן־לֵוִי׃ ס
48and their brethren the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God. וַאֲחֵיהֶם הַלְוִיִּם נְתוּנִים לְכָל־עֲבֹודַת מִשְׁכַּן בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים׃

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.
The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
