10Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, prince of the sons of Judah. וְרָם הֹולִיד אֶת־עַמִּינָדָב וְעַמִּינָדָב הֹולִיד אֶת־נַחְשֹׁון נְשִׂיא בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה׃
11Nahshon was the father of Salma, Salma of Boaz, וְנַחְשֹׁון הֹולִיד אֶת־שַׂלְמָא וְשַׂלְמָא הֹולִיד אֶת־בֹּעַז׃
12Boaz of Obed, Obed of Jesse. וּבֹעַז הֹולִיד אֶת־עֹובֵד וְעֹובֵד הֹולִיד אֶת־יִשָׁי׃
13Jesse was the father of Eliab his first-born, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third, וְאִישַׁי הֹולִיד אֶת־בְּכֹרֹו אֶת־אֱלִיאָב וַאֲבִינָדָב הַשֵּׁנִי וְשִׁמְעָא הַשְּׁלִישִׁי׃
14Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, נְתַנְאֵל הָרְבִיעִי רַדַּי הַחֲמִישִׁי׃
15Ozem the sixth, David the seventh; אֹצֶם הַשִּׁשִּׁי דָּוִיד הַשְּׁבִעִי׃
16and their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three. כ= וְאַחְיֹתֵיהֶם ק= וְאַחְיֹותֵיהֶם צְרוּיָה וַאֲבִיגָיִל וּבְנֵי צְרוּיָה אַבְשַׁי וְיֹואָב וַעֲשָׂה־אֵל שְׁלֹשָׁה׃
17Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite. וַאֲבִיגַיִל יָלְדָה אֶת־עֲמָשָׂא וַאֲבִי עֲמָשָׂא יֶתֶר הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִי׃

The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
