5 1	After this the heads of fathers' houses were chosen to go up, according to their tribes, with their wives and sons and daughters, and their menservants and maidservants, and their cattle.	Cencus: Those who returned from exile. 1Esd.5.1-46 \| Ne.7.4-73	Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα ἐξελέγησαν ἀναβῆναι ἀρχηγοὶ οἴκου πατριῶν κατὰ φυλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ παιδίσκαι καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν.
2	And Darius sent with them a thousand horsemen to take them back to Jerusalem in safety, with the music of drums and flutes;		καὶ Δαρεῖος συναπέστειλεν μετ' αὐτῶν ἱππεῖς χιλίους ἕως τοῦ ἀποκαταστῆσαι αὐτοὺς εἰς Ιερουσαλημ μετ' εἰρήνης καὶ μετὰ μουσικῶν, τυμπάνων καὶ αὐλῶν·
3	and all their brethren were making merry. And he made them go up with them.		καὶ πάντες οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν παίζοντες, καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτοὺς συναναβῆναι μετ' ἐκείνων.
4	These are the names of the men who went up, according to their fathers' houses in the tribes, over their groups:		Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν ἀναβαινόντων κατὰ πατριὰς αὐτῶν εἰς τὰς φυλὰς ἐπὶ τὴν μεριδαρχίαν αὐτῶν.
5	the priests, the sons of Phinehas, son of Aaron; Jeshua the son of Jozadak, son of Seraiah, and Joakim the son of Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, of the house of David, of the lineage of Phares, of the tribe of Judah,		οἱ ἱερεῖς υἱοὶ Φινεες υἱοῦ Ααρων· Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ιωσεδεκ τοῦ Σαραιου καὶ Ιωακιμ ὁ τοῦ Ζοροβαβελ τοῦ Σαλαθιηλ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ Δαυιδ ἐκ τῆς γενεᾶς Φαρες, φυλῆς δὲ Ιουδα,
6	who spoke wise words before Darius the king of the Persians, in the second year of his reign, in the month of Nisan, the first month.		ὃς ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως Περσῶν λόγους σοφοὺς ἐν τῷ δευτέρῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ μηνὶ Νισαν τοῦ πρώτου μηνός. -
7	These are the men of Judea who came up out of their sojourn in captivity, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon		εἰσὶν δὲ οὗτοι ἐκ τῆς Ιουδαίας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς παροικίας, οὓς μετῴκισεν Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος εἰς Βαβυλῶνα
8	and who returned to Jerusalem and the rest of Judea, each to his own town. They came with Zerubbabel and Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Resaiah, Bigvai, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Reeliah, Rehum, and Baanah, their leaders.		καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τὴν λοιπὴν Ιουδαίαν ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν, οἱ ἐλθόντες μετὰ Ζοροβαβελ καὶ Ἰησοῦ, Νεεμιου, Ζαραιου, Ρησαιου, Ενηνιος, Μαρδοχαιου, Βεελσαρου, Ασφαρασου, Βορολιου, Ροιμου, Βαανα τῶν προηγουμένων αὐτῶν.
9	The number of the men of the nation and their leaders: the sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two. The sons of Shephatiah, four hundred and seventy-two.		ἀριθμὸς τῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἔθνους καὶ οἱ προηγούμενοι αὐτῶν· υἱοὶ Φορος δύο χιλιάδες καὶ ἑκατὸν ἑβδομήκοντα δύο.
10	The sons of Arah, seven hundred and fifty-six.		υἱοὶ Σαφατ τετρακόσιοι ἑβδομήκοντα δύο. υἱοὶ Αρεε ἑπτακόσιοι πεντήκοντα ἕξ.
11	The sons of Pahathmoab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.		υἱοὶ Φααθμωαβ εἰς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰησοῦ καὶ Ιωαβ δισχίλιοι ὀκτακόσιοι δέκα δύο.
12	The sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four. The sons of Zattu, nine hundred and forty-five. The sons of Chorbe, seven hundred and five. 13	The sons of Bebai, six hundred and twenty-three. The sons of Azgad, one thousand three hundred and twenty-two.		υἱοὶ Βηβαι ἑξακόσιοι εἴκοσι τρεῖς. υἱοὶ Ασγαδ χίλιοι τριακόσιοι εἴκοσι δύο.
14	The sons of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty-seven. The sons of Bigvai, two thousand and sixty-six. The sons of Adin, four hundred and fifty-four.		υἱοὶ Αδωνικαμ ἑξακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα ἑπτά. υἱοὶ Βαγοι δισχίλιοι ἑξήκοντα ἕξ. υἱοὶ Αδινου τετρακόσιοι πεντήκοντα τέσσαρες.
15	The sons of Ater, namely of Hezekiah, ninety-two. The sons of Kilan and Azetas, sixty-seven. The sons of Azaru, four hundred and thirty-two.		υἱοὶ Ατηρ Εζεκιου ἐνενήκοντα δύο. υἱοὶ Κιλαν καὶ Αζητας ἑξήκοντα ἑπτά. υἱοὶ Αζουρου τετρακόσιοι τριάκοντα δύο.

17	The sons of Baiterus, three thousand and five. The sons of Bethlehem, one hundred and twenty-three.		υἱοὶ Βαιτηρους τρισχίλιοι πέντε. υἱοὶ ἐκ Βαιθλωμων ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι τρεῖς.
18	The men of Netophah, fifty-five. The men of Anathoth, one hundred and fifty-eight. The men of Bethasmoth, forty-two.		οἱ ἐκ Νετεβας πεντήκοντα πέντε. οἱ ἐξ Ενατου ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα ὀκτώ. οἱ ἐκ Βαιτασμων τεσσαράκοντα δύο.
19	The men of Kiriatharim, twenty-five. The men of Chephirah and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three.		οἱ ἐκ Καριαθιαριος εἴκοσι πέντε. οἱ ἐκ Καπιρας καὶ Βηροτ ἑπτακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα τρεῖς.
20	The Chadiasans and Ammidians, four hundred and twenty-two. The men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred and twenty-one.		οἱ Χαδιασαι καὶ Αμμιδιοι τετρακόσιοι εἴκοσι δύο. οἱ ἐκ Κιραμας καὶ Γαββης ἑξακόσιοι εἴκοσι εἷς.
21	The men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two. The men of Bethel, fifty-two. The sons of Magbish, one hundred and fifty-six.		οἱ ἐκ Μακαλων ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι δύο. οἱ ἐκ Βαιτολιω πεντήκοντα δύο. υἱοὶ Νιφις ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα ἕξ.
22	The sons of the other Elam and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-five. The sons of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.		υἱοὶ Καλαμω ἄλλου καὶ Ωνους ἑπτακόσιοι εἴκοσι πέντε. υἱοὶ Ιερεχου τριακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε.
23	The sons of Senaah, three thousand three hundred and thirty.		υἱοὶ Σαναας τρισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριάκοντα. -
24	The priests: the sons of Jedaiah the son of Jeshua, of the sons of Anasib, nine hundred and seventy-two. The sons of Immer, one thousand and fifty-two.		οἱ ἱερεῖς· υἱοὶ Ιεδδου τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἰησοῦ εἰς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ανασιβ ἐννακόσιοι ἑβδομήκοντα δύο. υἱοὶ Εμμηρου χίλιοι πεντήκοντα δύο.
25	The sons of Pashhur, one thousand two hundred and forty-seven. The sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen.		υἱοὶ Φασσουρου χίλιοι διακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα ἑπτά. υἱοὶ Χαρμη χίλιοι δέκα ἑπτά. -
26	The Levites: the sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel and Bannas and Sudias, seventy-four.		οἱ δὲ Λευῖται· υἱοὶ Ἰησοῦ καὶ Καδμιηλου καὶ Βαννου καὶ Σουδιου ἑβδομήκοντα τέσσαρες.
27	The temple singers: the sons of Asaph, one hundred and twenty-eight.		οἱ ἱεροψάλται· υἱοὶ Ασαφ ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ὀκτώ.
28	The gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, in all one hundred and thirty-nine.		οἱ θυρωροί· υἱοὶ Σαλουμ, υἱοὶ Αταρ, υἱοὶ Τολμαν, υἱοὶ Ακουβ, υἱοὶ Ατητα, υἱοὶ Σωβαι, οἱ πάντες ἑκατὸν τριάκοντα ἐννέα. -

36	The following are those who came up from Telmelah and Telharsha, under the leadership of Cherub, Addan, and Immer,		οὗτοι ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ Θερμελεθ καὶ Θελερσας, ἡγούμενος αὐτῶν Χαρααθ, Αδαν καὶ Αμαρ,
37	though they could not prove by their fathers' houses or lineage that they belonged to Israel: the sons of Delaiah the son of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fifty-two.		καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο ἀπαγγεῖλαι τὰς πατριὰς αὐτῶν καὶ γενεὰς ὡς ἐκ τοῦ Ισραηλ εἰσίν· υἱοὶ Δαλαν τοῦ υἱοῦ Τουβαν, υἱοὶ Νεκωδαν, ἑξακόσιοι πεντήκοντα δύο.
38	Of the priests the following had assumed the priesthood but were not found registered: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Jaddus who had married Agia, one of the daughters of Barzillai, and was called by his name.		καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἱερέων οἱ ἐμποιούμενοι ἱερωσύνης καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθησαν· υἱοὶ Οββια, υἱοὶ Ακκως, υἱοὶ Ιοδδους τοῦ λαβόντος Αυγιαν γυναῖκα τῶν θυγατέρων Φαρζελλαιου καὶ ἐκλήθη ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ·
39	And when the genealogy of these men was sought in the register and was not found, they were excluded from serving as priests.		καὶ τούτων ζητηθείσης τῆς γενικῆς γραφῆς ἐν τῷ καταλοχισμῷ καὶ μὴ εὑρεθείσης ἐχωρίσθησαν τοῦ ἱερατεύειν,
40	And Nehemiah and Attharias told them not to share in the holy things until a high priest should appear wearing Urim and Thummim.		καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Νεεμιας καὶ Ατθαριας μὴ μετέχειν τῶν ἁγίων αὐτούς, ἕως ἀναστῇ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐνδεδυμένος τὴν δήλωσιν καὶ τὴν ἀλήθειαν. -
41	All those of Israel, twelve or more years of age, besides menservants and maidservants, were forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty;		οἱ δὲ πάντες ἦσαν· Ισραηλ ἀπὸ δωδεκαετοῦς χωρὶς παίδων καὶ παιδισκῶν μυριάδες τέσσαρες δισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα· παῖδες τούτων καὶ παιδίσκαι ἑπτακισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριάκοντα ἑπτά· ψάλται καὶ ψαλτῳδοὶ διακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε·
42	their menservants and maidservants were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; there were two hundred and forty-five musicians and singers.
43	There were four hundred and thirty-five camels, and seven thousand and thirty-six horses, two hundred and forty-five mules, and five thousand five hundred and twenty-five asses.		κάμηλοι τετρακόσιοι τριάκοντα πέντε, καὶ ἵπποι ἑπτακισχίλιοι τριάκοντα ἕξ, ἡμίονοι διακόσιοι τεσσαράκοντα πέντε, ὑποζύγια πεντακισχίλια πεντακόσια εἴκοσι πέντε. -
44	Some of the heads of families, when they came to the temple of God which is in Jerusalem, vowed that they would erect the house on its site, to the best of their ability,		καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἡγουμένων κατὰ τὰς πατριὰς ἐν τῷ παραγίνεσθαι αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν τοῦ θεοῦ τὸ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εὔξαντο ἐγεῖραι τὸν οἶκον ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ κατὰ τὴν αὐτῶν δύναμιν
45	and that they would give to the sacred treasury for the work a thousand minas of gold, five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.		καὶ δοῦναι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν γαζοφυλάκιον τῶν ἔργων χρυσίου μνᾶς χιλίας καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς πεντακισχιλίας καὶ στολὰς ἱερατικὰς ἑκατόν. -
46	The priests, the Levites, and some of the people settled in Jerusalem and its vicinity; and the temple singers, the gatekeepers, and all Israel in their towns.		καὶ κατῳκίσθησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ οἱ ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τῇ χώρᾳ, οἵ τε ἱεροψάλται καὶ οἱ θυρωροὶ καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἐν ταῖς κώμαις αὐτῶν.
