| 2 | They journeyed through an uninhabited wilderness, and pitched their tents in untrodden places. | διώδευσαν ἔρημον ἀοίκητον, καὶ ἐν ἀβάτοις ἔπηξαν σκηνάς· | |
| 3 | They withstood their enemies and fought off their foes. | ἀντέστησαν πολεμίοις καὶ ἐχθροὺς ἠμύναντο. | |
