| 36 1 | THIS IS THE TABLE of the descendants of Esau: that is Edom. | Generations - Esau. Gn.36.1-19 | 1Chr.1.34-37 | וְאֵלֶּה תֹּלְדֹות עֵשָׂו הוּא אֱדֹום׃ |

| 2 | Esau took Canaanite women in marriage, Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite and Oholibamah daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Horite prob. rdg, (cp vv20, 21) Heb. Hivite, | | עֵשָׂו לָקַח אֶת־נָשָׁיו מִבְּנֹות כְּנָעַן אֶת־עָדָה בַּת־אֵילֹון הַחִתִּי וְאֶת־אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה בַּת־צִבְעֹון הַחִוִּי׃ |

| 3 | and Basemath, Ishmaels daughter, sister of Nebaioth. | | וְאֶת־בָּשְׂמַת בַּת־יִשְׁמָעֵאל אֲחֹות נְבָיֹות׃ |

| 4 | vv4, 5, 9-13: cp 1Chr. 1.35-37 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau; Basemath bore Reuel, and | | וַתֵּלֶד עָדָה לְעֵשָׂו אֶת־אֱלִיפָז וּבָשְׂמַת יָלְדָה אֶת־רְעוּאֵל׃ |

| 5 | Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were Esau's sons, born to him in Canaan. | | וְאָהֳלִיבָמָה יָלְדָה אֶת־כ= יעישׁ ק= יְעוּשׁ וְאֶת־יַעְלָם וְאֶת־קֹרַח אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עֵשָׂו אֲשֶׁר יֻלְּדוּ־לֹו בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן׃ |

| 6 | Esau took his wives, his sons and daughters and everyone in his household, his herds, his cattle, and all the chattels that he had acquired in Canaan, and went to the district of Seir out of the way of his brother Jacob, | | וַיִּקַּח עֵשָׂו אֶת־נָשָׁיו וְאֶת־בָּנָיו וְאֶת־בְּנֹתָיו וְאֶת־כָּל־נַפְשֹׁות בֵּיתֹו וְאֶת־מִקְנֵהוּ וְאֶת־כָּל־בְּהֶמְתֹּו וְאֵת כָּל־קִנְיָנֹו אֲשֶׁר רָכַשׁ בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מִפְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב אָחִיו׃ |

| 7 | because they had so much stock that they could not live together; the land where they were staying could not support them because of their herds. | | כִּי־הָיָה רְכוּשָׁם רָב מִשֶּׁבֶת יַחְדָּו וְלֹא יָכְלָה אֶרֶץ מְגוּרֵיהֶם לָשֵׂאת אֹתָם מִפְּנֵי מִקְנֵיהֶם׃ |

| 8 | So Esau livedin the hill-country of Seir. Esau is Edom. | | וַיֵּשֶׁב עֵשָׂו בְּהַר שֵׂעִיר עֵשָׂו הוּא אֱדֹום׃ |

| 9 | This is the table of the descendants of Esau father.of the Edomites in the hill-country of Seir. | | וְאֵלֶּה תֹּלְדֹות עֵשָׂו אֲבִי אֱדֹום בְּהַר שֵׂעִיר׃ |

| 10 | These are the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz was the son of Esau's wife Adah. Reuel was the son of Esau's wife Basemath. | | אֵלֶּה שְׁמֹות בְּנֵי־עֵשָׂו אֱלִיפַז בֶּן־עָדָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו רְעוּאֵל בֶּן־בָּשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו׃ |

| 11 | The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz. | | וַיִּהְיוּ בְּנֵי אֱלִיפָז תֵּימָן אֹומָר צְפֹו וְגַעְתָּם וּקְנַז׃ |

| 12 | Timna was concubine to Esau's son Eliphaz, and she bore Amalek to him. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah. | | וְתִמְנַע הָיְתָה פִילֶגֶשׁ לֶאֱלִיפַז בֶּן־עֵשָׂו וַתֵּלֶד לֶאֱלִיפַז אֶת־עֲמָלֵק אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עָדָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו׃ |

| 13 | These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath. | | וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי רְעוּאֵל נַחַת וָזֶרַח שַׁמָּה וּמִזָּה אֵלֶּה הָיוּ בְּנֵי בָשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו׃ |

| 14 | These were the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah son of Zibeon. She bore him Jeush, Jalarn and Korah. | | וְאֵלֶּה הָיוּ בְּנֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַת־עֲנָה בַּת־צִבְעֹון אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו וַתֵּלֶד לְעֵשָׂו אֶת־כ= יעישׁ ק= יְעוּשׁ וְאֶת־יַעְלָם וְאֶת־קֹרַח׃ |

| 15 | These are the chiefs descended from Esau. The sons of Esau's eldest son Eliphaz: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz, | | אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי בְנֵי־עֵשָׂו בְּנֵי אֱלִיפַז בְּכֹור עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף תֵּימָן אַלּוּף אֹומָר אַלּוּף צְפֹו אַלּוּף קְנַז׃ |

| 16 | chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in Edom. These are the descendants of Adah. | | אַלּוּף־קֹרַח אַלּוּף גַּעְתָּם אַלּוּף עֲמָלֵק אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי אֱלִיפַז בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי עָדָה׃ |

| 17 | These are the sons of Esau's son Reuel: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah. These are the chiefs descended from Reuel in Edom. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath. | | וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי רְעוּאֵל בֶּן־עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף נַחַת אַלּוּף זֶרַח אַלּוּף שַׁמָּה אַלּוּף מִזָּה אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי רְעוּאֵל בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדֹום אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי בָשְׂמַת אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו׃ |

| 18 | These are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: chief Jeush, chief Jalam, chief Korah. These are the chiefs born to Oholibamah daughter of Anah wife of Esau. | | וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו אַלּוּף יְעוּשׁ אַלּוּף יַעְלָם אַלּוּף קֹרַח אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי אָהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה אֵשֶׁת עֵשָׂו׃ |
