| 30 | Lot went up from Zoar and settled in the hill-country with his two daughters, because he was afraid to stay in Zoar; he lived with his two daughters in a cave. | Generations - Lot. Gn.19.30-38 | וַיַּעַל לֹוט מִצֹּועַר וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּהָר וּשְׁתֵּי בְנֹתָיו עִמֹּו כִּי יָרֵא לָשֶׁבֶת בְּצֹועַר וַיֵּשֶׁב בַּמְּעָרָה הוּא וּשְׁתֵּי בְנֹתָיו׃ |

| 31 | The elder daughter said to the younger, 'Our father is old and there is not a man in the country to come to us in the usual way. | | וַתֹּאמֶר הַבְּכִירָה אֶל־הַצְּעִירָה אָבִינוּ זָקֵן וְאִישׁ אֵין בָּאָרֶץ לָבֹוא עָלֵינוּ כְּדֶרֶךְ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃ |

| 32 | Come now, let us make our father drink wine and then lie with him and in this way keep the family alive through our father.' | | לְכָה נַשְׁקֶה אֶת־אָבִינוּ יַיִן וְנִשְׁכְּבָה עִמֹּו וּנְחַיֶּה מֵאָבִינוּ זָרַע׃ |

| 33 | So that night they gave him wine to drink, and the elder daughter came and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down and when she got up. | | וַתַּשְׁקֶיןָ אֶת־אֲבִיהֶן יַיִן בַּלַּיְלָה הוּא וַתָּבֹא הַבְּכִירָה וַתִּשְׁכַּב אֶת־אָבִיהָ וְלֹא־יָדַע בְּשִׁכְבָהּ וּבְקוּמָהּ׃ |

| 34 | Next day the elder said to the younger, 'Last night I lay with my father. Let us give him wine to drink again tonight; then you go in and lie with him. So we shall keep the family alive through our father.' | | וַיְהִי מִמָּחֳרָת וַתֹּאמֶר הַבְּכִירָה אֶל־הַצְּעִירָה הֵן־שָׁכַבְתִּי אֶמֶשׁ אֶת־אָבִי נַשְׁקֶנּוּ יַיִן גַּם־הַלַּיְלָה וּבֹאִי שִׁכְבִי עִמֹּו וּנְחַיֶּה מֵאָבִינוּ זָרַע׃ |

| 35 | So they gave their father wine to drink again that night, and the younger daughter went and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down and when she got up. | | וַתַּשְׁקֶיןָ גַּם בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא אֶת־אֲבִיהֶן יָיִן וַתָּקָם הַצְּעִירָה וַתִּשְׁכַּב עִמֹּו וְלֹא־יָדַע בְּשִׁכְבָהּ וּבְקֻמָהּ׃ |

| 36 | In this way both Lot's daughters came to be with child by their father. | | וַתַּהֲרֶיןָ שְׁתֵּי בְנֹות־לֹוט מֵאֲבִיהֶן׃ |

| 37 | The elder daughter bore a son and called him Moab; he was the ancestor of the present Moabites. | | וַתֵּלֶד הַבְּכִירָה בֵּן וַתִּקְרָא שְׁמֹו מֹואָב הוּא אֲבִי־מֹואָב עַד־הַיֹּום׃ |

| 38 | The younger also bore a son, whom she called Ben-ammi; he was the ancestor of the present Ammonites. | | וְהַצְּעִירָה גַם־הִוא יָלְדָה בֵּן וַתִּקְרָא שְׁמֹו בֶּן־עַמִּי הוּא אֲבִי בְנֵי־עַמֹּון עַד־הַיֹּום׃ ס |
