8 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE Passage Old Testament in Greek (Septuagint)

19After this he gave a wedding feast for them which lasted fourteen days. The wedding feast.
20And before the days of the feast were over, Raguel declared by oath to Tobias that he should not leave until the fourteen days of the wedding feast were ended,  καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ραγουηλ πρὶν ἢ συντελεσθῆναι τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ γάμου ἐνόρκως μὴ ἐξελθεῖν αὐτόν, ἐὰν μὴ πληρωθῶσιν αἱ δέκα τέσσαρες ἡμέραι τοῦ γάμου,
21that then he should take half of Raguel's property and return in safety to his father, and that the rest would be his "when my wife and I die."
21that then he should take half of Raguel's property and return in safety to his father, and that the rest would be his "when my wife and I die."

Notes: This page displays passages from the katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have used the name 'Yahweh'.
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
