| 9 | This is the story of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, the one blameless man of his time; he walked with God. | Noah. Gn.6.9-22 | אֵלֶּה תֹּולְדֹת נֹחַ נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה בְּדֹרֹתָיו אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים הִתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹחַ׃ |

| 10 | He had three sons, Shem, Ham and Japeth. | | וַיֹּולֶד נֹחַ שְׁלֹשָׁה בָנִים אֶת־שֵׁם אֶת־חָם וְאֶת־יָפֶת׃ |

| 11 | Now God saw that the whole world was corrupt Or ripe for destruction and full of violence. | | וַתִּשָּׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ חָמָס׃ |

| 12 | In his sight the world had become corrupted, for all men had lived corrupt lives on earth. | | וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְהִנֵּה נִשְׁחָתָה כִּי־הִשְׁחִית כָּל־בָּשָׂר אֶת־דַּרְכֹּו עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃ ס |

| 13 | God said to Noah, 'The loathsomeness Or end of all mankind has become plain to me, for through them the earth is full of violence. I intend to destroy them, and the earth with them. | | וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים לְנֹחַ קֵץ כָּל־בָּשָׂר בָּא לְפָנַי כִּי־מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ חָמָס מִפְּנֵיהֶם וְהִנְנִי מַשְׁחִיתָם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃ |

| 14 | Make yourself an ark with ribs of cypress; cover it with reeds and coat it inside and out with pitch. | | עֲשֵׂה לְךָ תֵּבַת עֲצֵי־גֹפֶר קִנִּים תַּעֲשֶׂה אֶת־הַתֵּבָה וְכָפַרְתָּ אֹתָהּ מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ בַּכֹּפֶר׃ |

| 15 | This is to be its plan: the length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. | | וְזֶה אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָהּ שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות אַמָּה אֹרֶךְ הַתֵּבָה חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה רָחְבָּהּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אַמָּה קֹומָתָהּ׃ |

| 16 | You shall make a roof for the ark, giving it a fall of one cubit when complete; and put a door in the side of the ark, and build three decks, upper, middle, and lower. | | צֹהַר תַּעֲשֶׂה לַתֵּבָה וְאֶל־אַמָּה תְּכַלֶנָּה מִלְמַעְלָה וּפֶתַח הַתֵּבָה בְּצִדָּהּ תָּשִׂים תַּחְתִּיִּם שְׁנִיִּם וּשְׁלִשִׁים תַּעֲשֶׂהָ׃ |

| 17 | I intend to bring the waters of the flood over the earth to destroy every human being that has the spirit of life; everything on earth shall perish. | | וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶת־הַמַּבּוּל מַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ לְשַׁחֵת כָּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר־בֹּו רוּחַ חַיִּים מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָרֶץ יִגְוָע׃ |

| 18 | But with you I will make a covenant, and you shall go into the ark, you and your sons, your wife and your sons' wives with you. | | וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וּבָאתָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ׃ |

| 19 | And you shall bring living creatures of every kind into the ark to keep them alive with you, two of each kind, a male and a female; | | וּמִכָּל־הָחַי מִכָּל־בָּשָׂר שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל תָּבִיא אֶל־הַתֵּבָה לְהַחֲיֹת אִתָּךְ זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה יִהְיוּ׃ |

| 20 | two of every kind of bird, beast, and reptile, shall come to you to be kept alive. | | מֵהָעֹוף לְמִינֵהוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ מִכֹּל רֶמֶשׂ הָאֲדָמָה לְמִינֵהוּ שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל יָבֹאוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְהַחֲיֹות׃ |

| 21 | See that you take and store every kind of food that can be eaten; this shall be food for you and for them'. | | וְאַתָּה קַח־לְךָ מִכָּל־מַאֲכָל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל וְאָסַפְתָּ אֵלֶיךָ וְהָיָה לְךָ וְלָהֶם לְאָכְלָה׃ |

| 22 | Exactly as God had commanded him, so Noah did. | | וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתֹו אֱלֹהִימ כֵּן עָשָׂה׃ ס |
