"At that time Yahweh said to me, 'Hew two tables of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood. | The two tablets of stone. Dt.10.1-11 | Ex.34.1-10 | בָּעֵת הַהִוא אָמַר יְהוָה אֵלַי פְּסָל־לְךָ שְׁנֵי־לוּחֹת אֲבָנִים כָּרִאשֹׁנִים וַעֲלֵה אֵלַי הָהָרָה וְעָשִׂיתָ לְּךָ אֲרֹון עֵץ׃ |

And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.' | | וְאֶכְתֹּב עַל־הַלֻּחֹת אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ עַל־הַלֻּחֹת הָרִאשֹׁנִים אֲשֶׁר שִׁבַּרְתָּ וְשַׂמְתָּם בָּאָרֹון׃ |

So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewed two tables of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tables in my hand. | | וָאַעַשׂ אֲרֹון עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וָאֶפְסֹל שְׁנֵי־לֻחֹת אֲבָנִים כָּרִאשֹׁנִים וָאַעַל הָהָרָה וּשְׁנֵי הַלֻּחֹת בְּיָדִי׃ |

And he wrote on the tables, as at the first writing, the ten commandments which Yahweh had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly; and Yahweh gave them to me. | | וַיִּכְתֹּב עַל־הַלֻּחֹת כַּמִּכְתָּב הָרִאשֹׁון אֵת עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֲלֵיכֶם בָּהָר מִתֹּוךְ הָאֵשׁ בְּיֹום הַקָּהָל וַיִּתְּנֵם יְהוָה אֵלָי׃ |

Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as Yahweh commanded me. | | וָאֵפֶן וָאֵרֵד מִן־הָהָר וָאָשִׂם אֶת־הַלֻּחֹת בָּאָרֹון אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי וַיִּהְיוּ שָׁם כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוַּנִי יְהוָה׃ |

(The people of Israel journeyed from Beeroth-bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and his son Eleazar ministered as priest in his stead. | | וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נָסְעוּ מִבְּאֵרֹת בְּנֵי־יַעֲקָן מֹוסֵרָה שָׁם מֵת אַהֲרֹן וַיִּקָּבֵר שָׁם וַיְכַהֵן אֶלְעָזָר בְּנֹו תַּחְתָּיו׃ |

From there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with brooks of water. | | מִשָּׁם נָסְעוּ הַגֻּדְגֹּדָה וּמִן־הַגֻּדְגֹּדָה יָטְבָתָה אֶרֶץ נַחֲלֵי מָיִם׃ |

At that time Yahweh set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to minister to him and to bless in his name, to this day. | | בָּעֵת הַהִוא הִבְדִּיל יְהוָה אֶת־שֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לָשֵׂאת אֶת־אֲרֹון בְּרִית־יְהוָה לַעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לְשָׁרְתֹו וּלְבָרֵךְ בִּשְׁמֹו עַד הַיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |

Therefore Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers; Yahweh is his inheritance, as Yahweh your God said to him.) | | עַל־כֵּן לֹא־הָיָה לְלֵוִי חֵלֶק וְנַחֲלָה עִם־אֶחָיו יְהוָה הוּא נַחֲלָתֹו כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לֹו׃ |

"I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights, and Yahweh hearkened to me that time also; Yahweh was unwilling to destroy you. | | וְאָנֹכִי עָמַדְתִּי בָהָר כַּיָּמִים הָרִאשֹׁנִים אַרְבָּעִים יֹום וְאַרְבָּעִים לָיְלָה וַיִּשְׁמַע יְהוָה אֵלַי גַּם בַּפַּעַם הַהִוא לֹא־אָבָה יְהוָה הַשְׁחִיתֶךָ׃ |

And Yahweh said to me, 'Arise, go on your journey at the head of the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.' | | וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֵלַי קוּם לֵךְ לְמַסַּע לִפְנֵי הָעָם וְיָבֹאוּ וְיִרְשׁוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי לַאֲבֹתָם לָתֵת לָהֶם׃ ף |

"And now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, | What God demands. Dt.10.12-22 | וְעַתָּה יִשְׂרָאֵל מָה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ שֹׁאֵל מֵעִמָּךְ כִּי אִם־לְיִרְאָה אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לָלֶכֶת בְּכָל־דְּרָכָיו וּלְאַהֲבָה אֹתֹו וְלַעֲבֹד אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל־לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל־נַפְשֶׁךָ׃ |

and to keep the commandments and statutes of Yahweh, which I command you this day for your good? | | לִשְׁמֹר אֶת־מִצְוֹת יְהוָה וְאֶת־חֻקֹּתָיו אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיֹּום לְטֹוב לָךְ׃ |

Behold, to Yahweh your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it; | | הֵן לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ הַשָּׁמַיִם וּשְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמָיִם הָאָרֶץ וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ׃ |

yet Yahweh set his heart in love upon your fathers and chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as at this day. | | רַק בַּאֲבֹתֶיךָ חָשַׁק יְהוָה לְאַהֲבָה אֹותָם וַיִּבְחַר בְּזַרְעָם אַחֲרֵיהֶם בָּכֶם מִכָּל־הָעַמִּים כַּיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |
| 16 |
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. | | וּמַלְתֶּם אֵת עָרְלַת לְבַבְכֶם וְעָרְפְּכֶם לֹא תַקְשׁוּ עֹוד׃ |

For Yahweh your God is God of gods and Yahweh of lords, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. | | כִּי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם הוּא אֱלֹהֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וַאֲדֹנֵי הָאֲדֹנִים הָאֵל הַגָּדֹל הַגִּבֹּר וְהַנֹּורָא אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִשָּׂא פָנִים וְלֹא יִקַּח שֹׁחַד׃ |

He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. | | עֹשֶׂה מִשְׁפַּט יָתֹום וְאַלְמָנָה וְאֹהֵב גֵּר לָתֶת לֹו לֶחֶם וְשִׂמְלָה׃ |
| 19 |
Love the sojourner therefore; for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. | | וַאֲהַבְתֶּם אֶת־הַגֵּר כִּי־גֵרִים הֱיִיתֶם בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃ |
| 20 |
You shall fear Yahweh your God; you shall serve him and cleave to him, and by his name you shall swear. | | אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ תִּירָא אֹתֹו תַעֲבֹד וּבֹו תִדְבָּק וּבִשְׁמֹו תִּשָּׁבֵעַ׃ |
| 21 |
He is your praise; he is your God, who has done for you these great and terrible things which your eyes have seen. | | הוּא תְהִלָּתְךָ וְהוּא אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה אִתְּךָ אֶת־הַגְּדֹלֹת וְאֶת־הַנֹּורָאֹת הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר רָאוּ עֵינֶיךָ׃ |

Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons; and now Yahweh your God has made you as the stars of heaven for multitude. | | בְּשִׁבְעִים נֶפֶשׁ יָרְדוּ אֲבֹתֶיךָ מִצְרָיְמָה וְעַתָּה שָׂמְךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ כְּכֹוכְבֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם לָרֹב׃ |
