 katapi NEW STUDY BIBLEMark:2Novum Testamentum Graece (UBS.Ed.26)

And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. The Healing of a Paralytic Mk.2.1-12 (Capernaum) - | Mt.9.1-8 | Lk.5.17-26Καὶ εἰσελθὼν πάλιν εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ δῖ ἡμερῶν ἠκούσθη ὅτι ἐν οἰκῳ ἐστίν.
And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, not even about the door; and he was preaching the word to them.
And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.
And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and when they had made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic lay.
And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven."
Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts,
"Why does this man speak thus? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"  Τί οὗτος οὑτως λαλεῖ; βλασφημεῖ· τίς δύναται ἀφιέναι ἀμαρτίας εἰ μὴ εἷς ὁ θεός;
And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you question thus in your hearts?  καὶ εὐθὺς ἐπιγνοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ πνεύματι αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὑτως διαλογίζονται ἐν ἑαυτοῖς λέγει αὐτοῖς, Τί ταῦτα διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;
Which is easier, to say to the paralytic,'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your pallet and walk?'  τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν τῷ παραλυτικῷ, Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἀμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν, Ἐγειρε καὶ ἆρον τὸν κράβαττόν σου καὶ περιπάτεὶ;
But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" - he said to the paralytic -  ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἐχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀφιέναι ἀμαρτίας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς - λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ,
"I say to you, rise, take up your pallet and go home."
And he rose, and immediately took up the pallet and went out before them all; so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"
He went out again beside the sea; and all the crowd gathered about him, and he taught them. The Calling of Levi Mk.2.13-17 (Capernaum) - | Mt.9.9-13 | Lk.5.27-32Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν πάλιν παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν· καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὀχλος ἠρχετο πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ ἐδίδασκεν αὐτούς.
And as he passed on, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him.
And as he sat at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were sitting with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him.
And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?"  καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς τῶν Φαρισαίων ἰδόντες ὅτι ἐσθίει μετὰ τῶν ἀμαρτωλῶν καὶ τελωνῶν ἐλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, Ὅτι μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἀμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίεὶ;
And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and people came and said to him, "Why do John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" The Question about Fasting Mk.2.18-22 (Capernaum) - | Mt.9.14-17 | Lk.5.33-39Καὶ ἦσαν οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι νηστεύοντες. καὶ ἐρχονται καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, διὰ τί οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ τῶν Φαρισαίων νηστεύουσιν, οἱ δὲ σοὶ μαθηταὶ οὐ νηστεύουσιν;
And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
The days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made.
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins; but new wine is for fresh skins."
One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. Plucking Grain on the Sabbath Mk.2.23-28 (Galilee) - | Mt.12.1-8 | Lk.6.1-5Καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς σάββασιν παραπορεύεσθαι διὰ τῶν σπορίμων, καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἠρξαντο ὁδὸν ποιεῖν τίλλοντες τοὺς στάχυας.
And the Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?"  καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ἐλεγον αὐτῷ, Ἰδε τί ποιοῦσιν τοῖς σάββασιν ὃ οὐκ ἐξεστιν;
And he said to them, "Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him:  καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, Οὐδέποτε ἀνέγνωτε τί ἐποίησεν Δαυίδ, ὅτε χρείαν ἐσχεν καὶ ἐπείνασεν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ μετ' αὐτοῦ;
how he entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?"  πῶς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ Ἀβιαθὰρ ἀρχιερέως καὶ τοὺς ἀρτους τῆς προθέσεως ἐφαγεν, οὓς οὐκ ἐξεστιν φαγεῖν εἰ μὴ τοὺς ἱερεῖς, καὶ ἐδωκεν καὶ τοῖς σὺν α ὐτῷ οὖσιν;
And he said to them, "The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath;  καὶ ἐλεγεν αὐτοῖς, Τὸ σάββατον διὰ τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐγένετο καὶ οὐχ ὁ ἄνθρωπος διὰ τὸ σάββατον·
so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath."

Notes: This webpage enables you to select-a-version from the Bible versions held on the katapi bible database.
The katapi NEW STUDY BIBLE is a very light revision of the RSV. The changes are: (1) In places where 'the LORD', 'O LORD' occurs in the RSV, (it represents the tetragrammaton - YHWH - which is in the hebrew text), I have printed 'YHWH' in black. The later vowel sounds I have shown in the colour gray;
(2) I have removed the quotation marks and hyphens that were used in so many names in the RSV as an aid to correct pronunciation. This now brings it in line with all other English versions, and makes any word-search more accurate.
(3) I have changed all (I hope!) of the RSV archaic language sections to modern.

The katapi New Study Bible reference section displays links to parallel passages, and to direct quotations by New Testament authors to Old Testament passages. Quotations of OT passages by NT authors can in most cases be viewed within their context of the OT passage as a whole, with the quoted text displayed, against a subdued background.
