 Revised Standard VersionMatthew:15Novum Testamentum Graece (UBS.Ed.26)

Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, The Tradition of the Elders Mt.15.1-20 (Capernaum) - | Mk.7.1-23Τότε προσέρχονται τῷ Ἰησοῦ ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων Φαρισαῖοι καὶ γραμματεῖς λέγοντες,
"Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat."
He answered them, "And why do you transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?  ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Διὰ τί καὶ ὑμεῖς παραβαίνετε τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ διὰ τὴν παράδοσιν ὑμῶν;
For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.' - Honour your father and your mother Mt.15.4 | Ex.20.12 | Dt.5.16 | Ex.21.17ὁ γὰρ θεὸς εἶπεν, τίμα τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα, καὶ ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα θανάτῳ τελευτάτω·
But you say, 'If any one tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is given to God, he need not honor his father.'
So, for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the word of God.
You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:  ὑποκριταί, καλῶς ἐπροφήτευσεν περὶ ὑμῶν Ἠσαΐας λέγων,
'This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
- This people honours me with their lips Mt.15.8-9 | Is.29.13Ὁ λαὸς οὗτος τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ,

in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'"
And he called the people to him and said to them, "Hear and understand:  Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν ὀχλον εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Ἀκούετε καὶ συνίετε·
not what goes into the mouth defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man."
Then the disciples came and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"  Τότε προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, Οἶδας ὅτι οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ἀκούσαντες τὸν λόγον ἐσκανδαλίσθησαν;
He answered, "Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.
Let them alone; they are [blind] guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
But Peter said to him, "Explain the parable to us."
And he said, "Are you also still without understanding?  ὁ δὲ εἶπεν, Ἀκμὴν καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀσύνετοί ἐστὲ;
Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and so passes on?  οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι πᾶν τὸ εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς τὸ στόμα εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν χωρεῖ καὶ εἰς ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκβάλλεταὶ;
But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a man.
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander.
These are what defile a man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."
And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. The Canaanite Woman's Faith Mt.15.21-28 (Phoenecia) - | Mk.7.24-30Καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐκεῖθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνεχώρησεν εἰς τὰ μέρη Τύρου καὶ Σιδῶνος.
And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and cried, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon."
But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying after us."
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me."
And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.
And Jesus went on from there and passed along the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain, and sat down there. The Healing of Many People Mt.15.29-31 (Decapolis) - Καὶ μεταβὰς ἐκεῖθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἦλθεν παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας, καὶ ἀναβὰς εἰς τὸ ὀρος ἐκάθητο ἐκεῖ.
And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the maimed, the blind, the dumb, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them,  καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ ὀχλοι πολλοὶ ἐχοντες μεθ' ἑαυτῶν χωλούς, τυφλούς, κυλλούς, κωφούς, καὶ ἑτέρους πολλούς, καὶ ἐρριψαν αὐτοὺς παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτο ύς·
so that the throng wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." The Feeding of the Four Thousand Mt.15.32-39 (Gennesaret) - | Mk.8.1-10Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν, Σπλαγχνίζομαι ἐπὶ τὸν ὀχλον, ὅτι ἠδη ἡμέραι τρεῖς προσμένουσίν μοι καὶ οὐκ ἐχουσιν τί φάγωσιν· καὶ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτοὺς νήστεις οὐ θέλω, μήποτε ἐκλυθῶσιν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ.
And the disciples said to him, "Where are we to get bread enough in the desert to feed so great a crowd?"  καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταί, Πόθεν ἡμῖν ἐν ἐρημίᾳ ἀρτοι τοσοῦτοι ὡστε χορτάσαι ὀχλον τοσοῦτον;
And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves have you?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish."
And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground,  καὶ παραγγείλας τῷ ὀχλῳ ἀναπεσεῖν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν
he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over.
Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
And sending away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Mag'adan.
