| 8 | Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out devils. You received without cost; give without charge. | ἀσθενοῦντας θεραπεύετε, νεκροὺς ἐγείρετε, λεπροὺς καθαρίζετε, δαιμόνια ἐκβάλλετε· δωρεὰν ἐλάβετε, δωρεὰν δότε. | ||
| 9 | 'Provide no gold, silver, or copper to fill your purse, | Μὴ κτήσησθε χρυσὸν μηδὲ ἀργυρον μηδὲ χαλκὸν εἰς τὰς ζώνας ὑμῶν, | ||
| 10 | no pack for the road, no second coat, no shoes, no stick; the worker earns his keep. | μὴ πήραν εἰς ὁδὸν μηδὲ δύο χιτῶνας μηδὲ ὑποδήματα μηδὲ ῥάβδον· ἄξιος γὰρ ὁ ἐργάτης τῆς τροφῆς αὐτοῦ. | ||
| 11 | 'When you come to any town or village, look for some worthy person in it, and make your home there until you leave. | εἰς ἣν δ' ἂν πόλιν ἢ κώμην εἰσέλθητε, ἐξετάσατε τίς ἐν αὐτῇ ἀξιός ἐστιν· κἀκεῖ μείνατε ἑως ἂν ἐξέλθητε. | ||
| 12 | Wish the house peace as you enter it, | εἰσερχόμενοι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν ἀσπάσασθε αὐτήν· | ||
| 13 | so that, if it is worthy, your peace may descend on it; if it is not worthy, your peace can come back to you. | καὶ ἐὰν μὲν ᾖ ἡ οἰκία ἀξία, ἐλθάτω ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν ἐπ' αὐτήν· ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ᾖ ἀξία, ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐπιστραφήτω. | ||
| 14 | If anyone will not receive you or listen to what you say, then as you leave that house or that town shake the dust of it off your feet. | καὶ ὃς ἂν μὴ δέξηται ὑμᾶς μηδὲ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν, ἐξερχόμενοι ἐξω τῆς οἰκίας ἢ τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης ἐκτινάξατε τὸν κονιορτὸν τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν. | ||
| 15 | I tell you this: on the day of judgement it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town. | ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀνεκτότερον ἐσται γῇ Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόρρων ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ. | ||

| 17 | 'And be on your guard, for men will hand you over to their courts, they will flog you in the synagogues, | προσέχετε δὲ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων· παραδώσουσιν γὰρ ὑμᾶς εἰς συνέδρια, καὶ ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν μαστιγώσουσιν ὑμᾶς· | ||
| 18 | and you will be brought before governors and kings, for my sake, to testify before them and the heathen. | καὶ ἐπὶ ἡγεμόνας δὲ καὶ βασιλεῖς ἀχθήσεσθε ἑνεκεν ἐμοῦ εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἐθνεσιν. | ||
| 19 | But when you are arrested, do not worry about what you are to say; when the time comes, the words you need will be given you; | ὁταν δὲ παραδῶσιν ὑμᾶς, μὴ μεριμνήσητε πῶς ἢ τί λαλήσητε· δοθήσεται γὰρ ὑμῖν ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὡρᾳ τί λαλήσητε· | ||
| 20 | for it is not you who will be speaking: it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking in you. | οὐ γὰρ ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ λαλοῦντες ἀλλὰ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν τὸ λαλοῦν ἐν ὑμῖν. | ||
| 21 | 'Brother will betray brother to death, and the father his child; children will turn against their parents and send them to their death. | παραδώσει δὲ ἀδελφὸς ἀδελφὸν εἰς θάνατον καὶ πατὴρ τέκνον, καὶ ἐπαναστήσονται τέκνα ἐπὶ γονεῖς καὶ θανατώσουσιν αὐτούς. | ||
| 22 | All will hate you for your allegiance to me; but the man who holds out to the end will be saved. | καὶ ἐσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὀνομά μου· ὁ δὲ ὑπομείνας εἰς τέλος οὗτος σωθήσεται. | ||
| 23 | When you are persecuted in one town, take refuge in another; I tell you this: before you have gone through all the towns of Israel the Son of Man will have come. | ὁταν δὲ διώκωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ, φεύγετε εἰς τὴν ἑτέραν· ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ μὴ τελέσητε τὰς πόλεις τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἑως ἂν ἐλθῃ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου. | ||
| 24 | 'A pupil does not rank above his teacher, or a servant above his master. | Οὐκ ἐστιν μαθητὴς ὑπὲρ τὸν διδάσκαλον οὐδὲ δοῦλος ὑπὲρ τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ. | ||
| 25 | The pupil should be content to share his teacher's lot, the servant to share his master's. If the master has been called Beelzebub, how much more his household! | ἀρκετὸν τῷ μαθητῇ ἵνα γένηται ὡς ὁ διδάσκαλος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ δοῦλος ὡς ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ. εἰ τὸν οἰκοδεσπότην Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐπεκάλεσαν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον τοὺς οἰκιακοὺς αὐτοῦ. | ||
| 26 | 'So do not be afraid of them. | 27 | What I say to you in the dark you must repeat in broad daylight; what you hear whispered you must shout from the house-tops. | ὃ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ, εἰπατε ἐν τῷ φωτί· καὶ ὃ εἰς τὸ οὖς ἀκούετε, κηρύξατε ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων. | ||
| 28 | Do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul. Fear him rather who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. | καὶ μὴ φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεννόντων τὸ σῶμα, τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν μὴ δυναμένων ἀποκτεῖναι· φοβεῖσθε δὲ μᾶλλον τὸν δυνάμενον καὶ ψυχὴν καὶ σῶμα ἀπολέσαι ἐν γεέννῃ. | ||
| 29 | 'Are not sparrows two a penny? Yet without your Father's leave not one of them can fall to the ground. | οὐχὶ δύο στρουθία ἀσσαρίου πωλεῖταὶ καὶ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐ πεσεῖται ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἀνευ τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν. | ||
| 30 | As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. | ὑμῶν δὲ καὶ αἱ τρίχες τῆς κεφαλῆς πᾶσαι ἠριθμημέναι εἰσίν. | ||
| 31 | So have no fear; you are worth more than any number of sparrows. | μὴ οὖν φοβεῖσθε· πολλῶν στρουθίων διαφέρετε ὑμεῖς. | ||

| 38 | no man is worthy of me who does not take up his cross and walk in my footsteps. | καὶ ὃς οὐ λαμβάνει τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκολουθεῖ ὀπίσω μου, οὐκ ἐστιν μου ἄξιος. | ||
