| 1 | In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: "We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. | God will give his people victory. Is.26.1-19 | בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יוּשַׁר הַשִּׁיר־הַזֶּה בְּאֶרֶץ יְהוּדָה עִיר עָז־לָנוּ יְשׁוּעָה יָשִׁית חֹומֹות וָחֵל׃ | |
| 2 | Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps faith may enter in. | פִּתְחוּ שְׁעָרִים וְיָבֹא גֹוי־צַדִּיק שֹׁמֵר אֱמֻנִים׃ | ||
| 3 | You keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. | יֵצֶר סָמוּךְ תִּצֹּר שָׁלֹום שָׁלֹום כִּי בְךָ בָּטוּחַ׃ | ||
| 4 | Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh GOD is an everlasting rock. | בִּטְחוּ בַיהוָה עֲדֵי־עַד כִּי בְּיָהּ יְהוָה צוּר עֹולָמִים׃ | ||
| 5 | For he has brought low the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. | כִּי הֵשַׁח יֹשְׁבֵי מָרֹום קִרְיָה נִשְׂגָּבָה יַשְׁפִּילֶנָּה יַשְׁפִּילָהּ עַד־אֶרֶץ יַגִּיעֶנָּה עַד־עָפָר׃ | ||
| 6 | The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy." | תִּרְמְסֶנָּה רָגֶל רַגְלֵי עָנִי פַּעֲמֵי דַלִּים׃ | ||
| 7 | The way of the righteous is level; you make smooth the path of the righteous. | אֹרַח לַצַּדִּיק מֵישָׁרִים יָשָׁר מַעְגַּל צַדִּיק תְּפַלֵּס׃ | ||
| 8 | In the path of your judgments, O Yahweh, we wait for you; your memorial name is the desire of our soul. | אַף אֹרַח מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ יְהוָה קִוִּינוּךָ לְשִׁמְךָ וּלְזִכְרְךָ תַּאֲוַת־נָפֶשׁ׃ | ||
| 9 | My soul yearns for you in the night, my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. | נַפְשִׁי אִוִּיתִיךָ בַּלַּיְלָה אַף־רוּחִי בְקִרְבִּי אֲשַׁחֲרֶךָּ כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לָאָרֶץ צֶדֶק לָמְדוּ יֹשְׁבֵי תֵבֵל׃ | ||
| 10 | If favour is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals perversely and does not see the majesty of Yahweh. | יֻחַן רָשָׁע בַּל־לָמַד צֶדֶק בְּאֶרֶץ נְכֹחֹות יְעַוֵּל וּבַל־יִרְאֶה גֵּאוּת יְהוָה׃ ס | ||
| 11 | O Yahweh, your hand is lifted up, but they see it not. Let them see your zeal for your people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for your adversaries consume them. | יְהוָה רָמָה יָדְךָ בַּל־יֶחֱזָיוּן יֶחֱזוּ וְיֵבֹשׁוּ קִנְאַת־עָם אַף־אֵשׁ צָרֶיךָ תֹאכְלֵם׃ ס | ||
| 12 | O Yahweh, you will ordain peace for us, you have wrought for us all our works. | יְהוָה תִּשְׁפֹּת שָׁלֹום לָנוּ כִּי גַּם כָּל־מַעֲשֵׂינוּ פָּעַלְתָּ לָּנוּ׃ | ||
| 13 | O Yahweh our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we acknowledge. | יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ בְּעָלוּנוּ אֲדֹנִים זוּלָתֶךָ לְבַד־בְּךָ נַזְכִּיר שְׁמֶךָ׃ | ||
| 14 | They are dead, they will not live; they are shades, they will not arise; to that end you have visited them with destruction and wiped out all remembrance of them. | מֵתִים בַּל־יִחְיוּ רְפָאִים בַּל־יָקֻמוּ לָכֵן פָּקַדְתָּ וַתַּשְׁמִידֵם וַתְּאַבֵּד כָּל־זֵכֶר לָמֹו׃ | ||
| 15 | But you have increased the nation, O Yahweh, you have increased the nation; you are glorified; you have enlarged all the borders of the land. | יָסַפְתָּ לַגֹּוי יְהוָה יָסַפְתָּ לַגֹּוי נִכְבָּדְתָּ רִחַקְתָּ כָּל־קַצְוֵי־אָרֶץ׃ | ||
| 16 | O Yahweh, in distress they sought you, they poured out a prayer when your chastening was upon them. | יְהוָה בַּצַּר פְּקָדוּךָ צָקוּן לַחַשׁ מוּסָרְךָ לָמֹו׃ | ||
| 17 | Like a woman with child, who writhes and cries out in her pangs, when she is near her time, so were we because of you, O Yahweh; | כְּמֹו הָרָה תַּקְרִיב לָלֶדֶת תָּחִיל תִּזְעַק בַּחֲבָלֶיהָ כֵּן הָיִינוּ מִפָּנֶיךָ יְהוָה׃ | ||
| 18 | we were with child, we writhed, we have as it were brought forth wind. We have wrought no deliverance in the earth, and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen. | הָרִינוּ חַלְנוּ כְּמֹו יָלַדְנוּ רוּחַ יְשׁוּעֹת בַּל־נַעֲשֶׂה אֶרֶץ וּבַל־יִפְּלוּ יֹשְׁבֵי תֵבֵל׃ | ||
| 19 | Your dead shall live, their bodies shall rise. O dwellers in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and on the land of the shades you will let it fall. | יִחְיוּ מֵתֶיךָ נְבֵלָתִי יְקוּמוּן הָקִיצוּ וְרַנְּנוּ שֹׁכְנֵי עָפָר כִּי טַל אֹורֹת טַלֶּךָ וָאָרֶץ רְפָאִים תַּפִּיל׃ ס | ||
| 20 | Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the wrath is past. | Judgement & restoration. | 21 | For behold, Yahweh is coming forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed upon her, and will no more cover her slain. | כִּי־הִנֵּה יְהוָה יֹצֵא מִמְּקֹומֹו לִפְקֹד עֲוֹן יֹשֵׁב־הָאָרֶץ עָלָיו וְגִלְּתָה הָאָרֶץ אֶת־דָּמֶיהָ וְלֹא־תְכַסֶּה עֹוד עַל־הֲרוּגֶיהָ׃ ס | ||
