| Prayer for the Nation's Welfare. Psalm 85(v84) | לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מִזְמֹור׃ | |||
| 1 | LORD, you were favourable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. | רָצִיתָ יְהוָה אַרְצֶךָ שַׁבְתָּ [כ= שְׁבוּת] [ק= שְׁבִית] יַעֲקֹב׃ | ||
| 2 | You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin. | נָשָׂאתָ עֲוֹן עַמֶּךָ כִּסִּיתָ כָל־חַטָּאתָם סֶלָה׃ | ||
| 3 | You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger. | אָסַפְתָּ כָל־עֶבְרָתֶךָ הֱשִׁיבֹותָ מֵחֲרֹון אַפֶּךָ׃ | ||
| 4 | Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! | שׁוּבֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ וְהָפֵר כַּעַסְךָ עִמָּנוּ׃ | ||
| 5 | Will you be angry with us for ever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? | הַלְעֹולָם תֶּאֱנַף־בָּנוּ תִּמְשֹׁךְ אַפְּךָ לְדֹר וָדֹר׃ | ||
| 6 | Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? | הֲלֹא־אַתָּה תָּשׁוּב תְּחַיֵּנוּ וְעַמְּךָ יִשְׂמְחוּ־בָךְ׃ | ||
| 7 | Show us your steadfast love, O Yahweh, and grant us your salvation. | הַרְאֵנוּ יְהוָה חַסְדֶּךָ וְיֶשְׁעֲךָ תִּתֶּן־לָנוּ׃ | ||
| 8 | Let me hear what God Yahweh will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints, to those who turn to him in their hearts. | אֶשְׁמְעָה מַה־יְדַבֵּר הָאֵל יְהוָה כִּי יְדַבֵּר שָׁלֹום אֶל־עַמֹּו וְאֶל־חֲסִידָיו וְאַל־יָשׁוּבוּ לְכִסְלָה׃ | ||
| 9 | Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. | אַךְ קָרֹוב לִירֵאָיו יִשְׁעֹו לִשְׁכֹּן כָּבֹוד בְּאַרְצֵנוּ׃ | ||
| 10 | Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. | חֶסֶד־וֶאֱמֶת נִפְגָּשׁוּ צֶדֶק וְשָׁלֹום נָשָׁקוּ׃ | ||
| 11 | Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky. | אֱמֶת מֵאֶרֶץ תִּצְמָח וְצֶדֶק מִשָּׁמַיִם נִשְׁקָף׃ | ||
| 12 | Yea, Yahweh will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. | גַּם־יְהוָה יִתֵּן הַטֹּוב וְאַרְצֵנוּ תִּתֵּן יְבוּלָהּ׃ | ||
| 13 | Righteousness will go before him, and make his footsteps a way. | צֶדֶק לְפָנָיו יְהַלֵּךְ וְיָשֵׂם לְדֶרֶךְ פְּעָמָיו׃ | ||
