| Evening Prayer. Psalm 4 | לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינֹות מִזְמֹור לְדָוִד׃ | |||
| 1 | Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You have given me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer. | בְּקָרְאִי עֲנֵנִי אֱלֹהֵי צִדְקִי בַּצָּר הִרְחַבְתָּ לִּי חָנֵּנִי וּשְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי׃ | ||
| 2 | O men, how long shall my honour suffer shame? How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies? | בְּנֵי אִישׁ עַד־מֶה כְבֹודִי לִכְלִמָּה תֶּאֱהָבוּן רִיק תְּבַקְשׁוּ כָזָב סֶלָה׃ | ||
| 3 | But know that Yahweh has set apart the godly for himself; Yahweh hears when I call to him. | וּדְעוּ כִּי־הִפְלָה יְהוָה חָסִיד לֹו יְהוָה יִשְׁמַע בְּקָרְאִי אֵלָיו׃ | ||
| 4 | Be angry, but sin not; commune with your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. | רִגְזוּ וְאַל־תֶּחֱטָאוּ אִמְרוּ בִלְבַבְכֶם עַל־מִשְׁכַּבְכֶם וְדֹמּוּ סֶלָה׃ | ||
| 5 | Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in Yahweh. | זִבְחוּ זִבְחֵי־צֶדֶק וּבִטְחוּ אֶל־יְהוָה׃ | ||
| 6 | There are many who say, "O that we might see some good! Lift up O Yahweh, the light of your countenance upon us!" | רַבִּים אֹמְרִים מִי־יַרְאֵנוּ טֹוב נְסָה־עָלֵינוּ אֹור פָּנֶיךָ יְהוָה׃ | ||
| 7 | You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. | נָתַתָּה שִׂמְחָה בְלִבִּי מֵעֵת דְּגָנָם וְתִירֹושָׁם רָבּוּ׃ | ||
| 8 | In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Yahweh, make me dwell in safety. | בְּשָׁלֹום יַחְדָּו אֶשְׁכְּבָה וְאִישָׁן כִּי־אַתָּה יְהוָה לְבָדָד לָבֶטַח תֹּושִׁיבֵנִי׃ | ||
