| 15 | ὁ [δὲ] ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος μὴ καταβάτω μηδὲ εἰσελθάτω ἆραί τι ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας αὐτοῦ, |
If a man is on the roof, he must not come down into the house to fetch anything out; | |
| 16 | καὶ ὁ εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω ἆραι τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ. |
if in the field, he must not turn back for his cloak. | |
| 17 | οὐαὶ δὲ ταῖς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσαις καὶ ταῖς θηλαζούσαις ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις. |
Alas for women with child in those days, and for those who have children at the breast! | |
| 18 | προσεύχεσθε δὲ ἵνα μὴ γένηται χειμῶνος· |
Pray that it may not come in winter. | |
| 19 | ἐσονται γὰρ αἱ ἡμέραι ἐκεῖναι θλῖψις οἵα οὐ γέγονεν τοιαύτη ἀπ' ἀρχῆς κτίσεως ἣν ἐκτισεν ὁ θεὸς ἕως τοῦ νῦν καὶ οὐ μὴ γένηται. |
For those days will bring distress such as never has been until now since the beginning of the world which God created-and will never be again. | - For in those days there will be such tribulation Mk.13.19 | Dn.12.1 |
| 20 | καὶ εἰ μὴ ἐκολόβωσεν κύριος τὰς ἡμέρας, οὐκ ἂν ἐσώθη πᾶσα σάρξ. ἀλλὰ διὰ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς οὓς ἐξελέξατο ἐκολόβωσεν τὰς ἡμέρας. |
If the Lord had not cut short that time of troubles, no living thing could survive. However, for the sake of his own, whom he has chosen, he has cut short the time.

| 21 | καὶ τότε ἐάν τις ὑμῖν εἰπῃ, Ἰδε ὧδε ὁ Χριστός, Ἰδε ἐκεῖ, μὴ πιστεύετε· |
'Then, if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Messiah", or, "Look, there he is", do not believe it. | |
| 22 | ἐγερθήσονται γὰρ ψευδόΧριστοι καὶ ψευδοπροφῆται καὶ δώσουσιν σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα πρὸς τὸ ἀποπλανᾶν, εἰ δυνατόν, τοὺς ἐκλεκτούς. |
Impostors will come claiming to be messiahs or prophets, and they will produce signs and wonders to mislead God's chosen, if such a thing were possible. | |
| 23 | ὑμεῖς δὲ βλέπετε· προείρηκα ὑμῖν πάντα. |
But you be on your guard; I have forewarned you of it all. | |
