I Timothy

Reference
Παρακαλῶ οὖν πρῶτον πάντων ποιεῖσθαι δεήσεις, προσευχάς, ἐντεύξεις, εὐχαριστίας, ὑπὲρ πάντων ἀνθρώπων, FIRST OF ALL, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered for all men;Instructions concerning Prayer 1Tm.2.1-15
ὑπὲρ βασιλέων καὶ πάντων τῶν ἐν ὑπεροχῇ ὀντων, ἵνα ἠρεμον καὶ ἡσύχιον βίον διάγωμεν ἐν πάσῃ εὐσεβείᾳ καὶ σεμνότητι. for sovereigns and all in high office, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in full observance of religion and high standards of morality.
τοῦτο καλὸν καὶ ἀπόδεκτον ἐνώπιον τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ, Such prayer is right, and approved by God our Saviour,
ὃς πάντας ἀνθρώπους θέλει σωθῆναι καὶ εἰς ἐπίγνωσιν ἀληθείας ἐλθεῖν. whose will it is that all men should find salvation and come to know the truth.
εἷς γὰρ θεός, εἷς καὶ μεσίτης θεοῦ καὶ ἀνθρώπων, ἄνθρωπος Χριστὸς Ἰησοῦς, For there is one God, and also one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus, himself man,
ὁ δοὺς ἑαυτὸν ἀντίλυτρον ὑπὲρ πάντων, τὸ μαρτύριον καιροῖς ἰδίοις· who sacrificed himself to win freedom for all mankind, so providing, at the fitting time, proof of the divine purpose;
εἰς ὃ ἐτέθην ἐγὼ κῆρυξ καὶ ἀπόστολος - ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ ψεύδομαι - διδάσκαλος ἐθνῶν ἐν πίστει καὶ ἀληθείᾳ. of this I was appointed herald and apostle (this is no lie, but the truth), to instruct the nations in the true faith.

Βούλομαι οὖν προσεύχεσθαι τοὺς ἀνδρας ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ, ἐπαίροντας ὁσίους χεῖρας χωρὶς ὀργῆς καὶ διαλογισμοῦ· It is my desire, therefore, that everywhere prayers be said by the men of the congregation, who shall lift up their hands with a pure intention, excluding angry or quarrelsome thoughts.
ὡσαύτως [καὶ] γυναῖκας ἐν καταστολῇ κοσμίῳ μετὰ αἰδοῦς καὶ σωφροσύνης κοσμεῖν ἑαυτάς, μὴ ἐν πλέγμασιν καὶ χρυσίῳ ἢ μαργαρίταις ἢ ἱματισμῷ πολυτελεῖ, Women again must dress in becoming manner, modestly and soberly, not with elaborate hair-styles, not decked out with gold or pearls, or expensive clothes,
ἀλλ' ὃ πρέπει γυναιξὶν ἐπαγγελλομέναις θεοσέβειαν, δῖ ἐργων ἀγαθῶν. but with good deeds, as befits women who claim to be religious.
γυνὴ ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ μανθανέτω ἐν πάσῃ ὑποταγῇ· A woman must be a learner, listening quietly and with due submission.
διδάσκειν δὲ γυναικὶ οὐκ ἐπιτρέπω, οὐδὲ αὐθεντεῖν ἀνδρός, ἀλλ' εἶναι ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ. I do not permit a woman to be a teacher, nor must woman domineer over man; she should be quiet.
Ἀδὰμ γὰρ πρῶτος ἐπλάσθη, εἶτα Εὕα· For Adam was created first, and Eve afterwards;
καὶ Ἀδὰμ οὐκ ἠπατήθη, ἡ δὲ γυνὴ ἐξαπατηθεῖσα ἐν παραβάσει γέγονεν. and it was not Adam who was deceived; it was the woman who, yielding to deception, fell into sin.
σωθήσεται δὲ διὰ τῆς τεκνογονίας, ἐὰν μείνωσιν ἐν πίστει καὶ ἀγάπῃ καὶ ἀγιασμῷ μετὰ σωφροσύνης. Yet she will be saved through motherhood - if is only women continue in faith, love, and holiness, with a sober mind.
